Tell me what we should have done to stop Hitlers march on Europe, because the Germans sure weren't stopping Hitler's March. If you're going to lay blame, lay it where it belongs.

We could have changed the conditions in Germany that led to the rise of Hitler. It's called being proactive and not reactive. The seeds of WWII started at the end of WWI. The Allies had almost 20 years to change their behavior and failed to do so.

That Poster is a freak - Goreobsessed or whatever he goes by.

I know. So what?

I know. So what?

The political climate at that time prevented that.

Yes it did.

Read up on Hitlers orders when he marched, I believe 2 Battalions into the Rhine. The French let them. That was a turning point for Hitler and was a leading indicator to him that the West would avoid War.

The Allies had lots of time to alter the path before Hitler came to power. Likewise, the west had lots of time to alter the path before the 1979 revolution in Iran.

Best check up on your history and the times back then. Hindsight is great. Now the Allies did learn - Marshall Plan - Also stopped Communists in their tracks.

I'm well aware of history. Is there something I have said that you disagree with?

Yes, they did learn....when it came to the Axis powers. Sadly, they have forgotten those lessons elsewhere...like Iran for example.

I guess, if you don't like the post, the best you can do is attack the poster. Predictable.

Attack the poster. LOL That's very fresh coming from you Cannuck.

More reaction. Don't you believe in being proactive? Why wait until violence is required before changing course? It is exactly that type of thinking that leads us to war.

I do - Why not start a Thread that is pertinent to WW 1 and how events lead directly to WW 2. Why I will even help on this.

Why not have a thread that is pertinent to all wars and how events lead directly to war? The first post could be made by you and could be about how we should have bombed somebody.

Makes no difference to me. How far would you like to go back?

Start with the Franco- Prussian War - it changed from there - Also research the US civil War as it set the tactics for that War and WW1

Now I am signing off for the night

I always read what I respond to. Do you have some particular issue with what I have said or are you just attacking me because you really have nothing to offer the discussion. If you would like, I can help you out....read this

Treaty of Versailles - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

What position exactly do you hold at the Firehall anyway? Dispatcher? Truckwasher? Three legged dog with spots?

I have a better idea. Why don't we just start here and look forward. We should have learned enough lessons by now.

I am always fascinated by guys who use wikipedia as the testament to their knowledge regarding the great war and or the second war.

Why not recomnend a few books, maybe we've read a few of the same ones and we can compare notes.

You have a very Glen Beck way of looking at reality. There is not and never has been a communist state on the planet. Socialist, maybe, but what you call communist is more of a dictatorship. If you ever read Marks you would know that no one has ever put his ideas into action. You fear communism because of propaganda not because you have any idea what it is. Don't feel bad, most people do.
Socialism and Communism are different as night and day.
