How about finding work before you get into a country? Canada does not like people that do that. A neighbour is from Switzerland and wanted to move over here, start a business, and hire a few people. Canada made him leap through 4 dozen hoops while juggling, breathing fire, and reciting the entire Charter by heart. Took the poor guy well over a year to just get going.

Try getting into Switzerland they come into your house and taste the food you cook to see if it's acceptably Swiss.

Hubby told him he should have just claimed refugee status and he would have been here within a week, gotten a free house, free yard, free medical, free .....

Every night on the Global news for the past week we are witnessing dozens of our own people in local communities being turned away from shelters, to spent the night sleeping in the cold and wet on the street. Really? The Inquisition was not a war against Protestantism. It was originally intended in large part to ensure the orthodoxy of those who converted from Judaism and Islam. And it mostly took place in Spain. The idea that the Vatican was running around conducting Inquisitions all over Europe is a pop culture myth.
