The next election won't be the Liberals' to win but the Conservatives' to lose. Unless something changes, the Cons have no legit reason to lose this one if they get their act together. Easy way for the Cons to win:

I pretty much have to agree.....................it shouldn't take a hell of a lot to beat the bone head that's in power now. Oh yeah, one more thing, no more alien refugees until Attawapiskat and a dozen other Indian Reserves are brought up to snuff. These are our people let's look after them so they too can be contributing members.

I questioned Ralph Goodale many years ago about information laundering and effect of short and long term effects on Public Policy, and the detrimental outcomes to Canada as a whole.
Ralph Goodale had no problems with information laundering.
How silly I felt, what's another political wh ore in my black book,
This after I went forward to take out a Liberal membership
I wish RG would go away,he is wrecking my romantic Liberal fantasy

Some close friends and neighbours of ours were heavy duty, dyed in the wool Liberal Liberals, way back when. One of them was asked to do some committee work for Lloyd Axworthy. They were asked to help examine some important question or other, to debate it. They were also told the specific outcone that they were to arrive at. That was too much, even for them. They were smart, educated people, not trained seals.

I have learned to really dislike tha arrogance of the natural leading party. I hope that their shot at it is short, this time. It is bad for democracy to have a one party system.

Thank you
I have stories about appointment of people to public boards, using people in communities, dividing communities, keeping communities ignorant,
When I came to conclusions of information auditing,I came to realize people will wh ore their mothers, ill character people, loyalists to the perks,
I would think if you reached the pinnacles of Lloyd Axworthy boards, expectations are already cultivated, power has already been attained
Then again this is not always the case, appointing the naive has been demonstrated over political spectrums, even being a female has its design in appointments

There's a few techniques out there

He was Vice President of one of the corporations that Conrad Black eventually turned to dreck.

Why not?

Lloyd Axworthy is he alive?

Must be around 90 too?

I remember him as one of those politicians who should of switched up their glasses, but then I am uncertain

The next election won't be the Liberals' to win but the Conservatives' to lose. Unless something changes, the Cons have no legit reason to lose this one if they get their act together. Easy way for the Cons to win:

1. Promise spending cuts but make no promises on taxes. Taxes must dovetail with debt and expenditure anyway. Maybe shift taxes to user-pay, but make no promise to reduce taxes and no promise to not raise taxes. The Cons will appear more responsible that way. Again, taxes will dovetail with debt and expenditure. Just say that.

2. Focus on free trade and deregulation.

3. Stay the f**k away from identity politics. So no nuqab ban unless it is a legitimate security concern, no values test or barbaric practice's hotline, etc.

Follow those three basic rules and the Constitution will have won half the battle.
We don't even know what the election will entail with new system that has yet to be determined .

Don't hold your breath waiting for a new system! Changing the system isn't going to help. Changing the mentality of some of the electorate might! :)

I, for one don't particularly want a new system. With voter turn out at +/- 50% I would guess a lot of voters have trouble figuring out their first choice. Second choice may just totally confuse a lot of them. :) :)
