I thought so too. Just read an article that says that thousands of "americans" are crossing the border .....

How are they allowed in?? We do not need the virus coming in from the US now. They just don't seem to care.

Arrogance?? Entitlement.......shameful. ( and dangerous)

They tell the border guard they are driving to Alaska. They have to be allowed through. They are supposed to drive straight through but several have used this excuse and toured Banff for example. When caught they face a hefty fine but they only catch a small percentage.

According to the CBSA website, visitors are prohibited from entering Canada for non-essential reasons such as tourism and recreation.

However, in a statement to 660 NEWS, the CBSA says Americans heading home to Alaska will be granted entry into the country.

“Healthy, non-symptomatic foreign nationals, travelling through Canada for non-discretionary purposes, such as to return home to Alaska, may transit through Canada,” it says

They need to be issuing visitor records giving them 48hrs to exit. That is more than enough time.

There cant be many.

We have this highway called the Alaska Highway. It goes to of all places, Alaska which just happens to be part of the US. Also many US citizens take the Island route, ferry to PR. Rupert and then ferry to Alaska. THey are not supposed to take side trips to places like Long Beach. But then neither are Albertans.
