ROFLMFAO..... you do know that you're wasting your time.
I do....but I can't help it!! lol
ROFLMFAO..... you do know that you're wasting your time.
If you think this is an academic exercise with strict source rules, then you are even more of an imbecile than I thought. And that is not an easy level to reach.
You REALLY need to take a course in Reading Comprehension, if you can deal with it.
And yep, I'm slagging you, because you are an arrogant, idiotic ar$ehole that deserves no respect.
I thought I should tell you I'm slagging you, as you don't have the intellect to figure it out on your own.....as shown by your belief that I was slagging Irwin Cotler.
The Canadian government established the International Commission on Intervention and State Sovereignty (ICISS) in September 2000 to answer exactly this question.
Kofi Annan??
You mean the guy RESPONSIBLE for letting the Rwandan genocide happen?
When he visited Rwanda, the people lined the streets.....and as his motorcade approached, they pointedly turned their backs on him, as he had on them.
R2P was NOT inspired by the UN and Annan, but by Canada and D'Allaire.
Idiot.
Both you and Annan.
This implied that the United States had done a good deal but not quite enough. In reality the United States did much more than fail to send troops. It led a successful effort to remove most of the UN peacekeepers who were already in Rwanda. It aggressively worked to block the subsequent authorization of UN reinforcements. It refused to use its technology to jam radio broadcasts that were a crucial instrument in the coordination and perpetuation of the genocide. And even as, on average, 8,000 Rwandans were being butchered each day, U.S. officials shunned the term "genocide," for fear of being obliged to act. The United States in fact did virtually nothing "to try to limit what occurred." Indeed, staying out of Rwanda was an explicit U.S. policy objective.
ROFLMFAO..... you do know that you're wasting your time.
lol...
Providing parkas to those about to be massacred deserves nothing but mockery.
Robert Kennedy once said "In a crisis, expect all aid from Canada short of actual help".
I wonder if the Liberals were in gov't then??
Wanna bet?
You lose. Diefenbaker. Cuban Missile Crisis.
Got a link?
your perpetual want to insult doesn't help your case, no matter how, apparently, good it makes you feel. Wiki has many failings as a reliable source... I would have thought you'd be aware of this. I appreciate you're in a tough spot... when your own source highlights a background lead-up to R2P, when your own source, per my bolded red-colour highlight below, speaks to "answering a question" as the establishing cause for ICISS, what are you to do... but bluster and insult in an attempt to deflect from your "argument" short-comings?
what question, hey Colpy? What question? Point in fact, as I've stated now several times, former UN Secretary Kofi Annan was informally speaking of R2P in 1999... he ramped that up to a formal level in 2000 with his Millenium Report; a report which poses the question, the formal question, that was the basis for the establishment of ICISS. Again Colpy, what question... per your own source, what question... did Annan pose? Hell, maybe even your favoured wiki might tell ya!
there is much blame to go around for Rwanda; there aren't any accounts I've read that place your targeted RESPONSIBILITY (caps, no less???) directly and solely on the UN... most accounts attribute the key responsibilities to France and the United States. Do you purposely jump to revisionism to attempt to deflect and/or 'pump your own supposed argument'?
read and learn... sure you can! Bystanders to Genocide
?
pardon... was that you earlier claiming to be a liberal/Liberal?
My argument has no shortcomings as it is based on fact.
You have no argument. You are just a ****ing troll.
Idiot.
Moron.
The Canadian government established the International Commission on Intervention and State Sovereignty (ICISS) in September 2000 to answer exactly this question.
We've been putting up with Gerry's spirited defense of the Liberal Party for YEARS.
Gag.
But you, being a complete fool, come on here for a week and think you know everything about everybody.
You really are not that bright.
No kidding.Nonetheless, it is not a view of Canada one would desire from our closest ally, no matter who is in power.
Yes, because it's all you're worth really.more insults?
Actually, he is probably correct.
I haven't looked it up, but it makes perfect sense.
Nonetheless, it is not a view of Canada one would desire from our closest ally, no matter who is in power.
And it is a view the Liberals would encourage, as for the old PCs, well..........Liberals in blue coats.
Yes, because it's all you're worth really.
No, you and I have nothing in common.kindred spirits? Birds of a feather?
No, you and I have nothing in common.
You should be.
It allows you to post condescending and angry posts, so why not?does this board allow gratuitous post padding... like yours?
