Truth hurts doesn't it.
Indeed it does EagleSmack. When almost any Democratic candidate can garner more than 90% black vote, when almost any Republican candidate can muster at most 10% of black vote, the truth does indeed hurt. No attempt to portray Democrats as racist and Republicans as a paragon of virtue will be credible with such numbers.
All such propagandas does is it exposes the contempt Republicans feel for blacks. Republicans evidently think that blacks are too stupid to understand that liberals are racist.
So yes, truth does hurt.
Incidentally, it is not only blacks, Republicans have also alienated homosexuals (no big deal, they are a small number and according to Bible they are going to Hell anyway), Hispanics (a huge deal, with blacks and Hispanics alienated, Republicans have their work cut out) and most other minorities.

Kreskin, Robert Byrd is a typical Democrat and as such manages to get most of the black votes. The fact that he may have been a KKK member 50 or 60 years ago is irrelevant today. Today, most of the racists reside in Republican Party, that is why they manage to get so few black votes.

There is nothing racist about it, YJ, it was political expediency. In politics, one does what works, both parties do that. It was a shrewd political move to call himself black (and he looks black) and align himself with blacks. He got 96% of black vote, which is exceptional, even for a Democrat.
So not racist, just an astute politician. Same as some homosexuals, adulterers etc, align themselves with religious right, for political expediency. Or Bush Sr. used to be pro choice, he changed his views to prolife, for political expediency. Or on the flip side, Gore changed from prolife to pro choice. Both parties do that.
EagelSmack, haven’t your Republican governors been without exception moderates? Like Norm Veldt or Mitt Romney (Romney was a moderate when he was Massachusetts governor, he moved to the right when he ran for president, for political expediency).
I remember when Norm Veldt was running for governor, the Democratic candidate was John Silber. How he managed to get the Democratic nomination, I have no idea, he was a religious right nut (he believed life begins at conception, Gerry Falwell talked of him approvingly). I remember Feminists were terrified of him. No wonder Veldt got elected, I think he was actually more moderate than the Democratic candidate.

Depends upon how one defines black, Durka. His father was black, his mother white. Now, in the old South, he would have been considered black. When they had strict segregation laws in the South, separate restrooms, lunch counters etc. you were considered black if you were 1/64th black.
But we would consider him mixed race. However, since he looks black, he could get away by identifying himself with blacks. If he had looked as white as McCain ( a definite possibility with black father and white mother), his claim of being clack would have strained credulity.
I really think people in the US are mentally challenged. The guy is trying to get a handle on the country spending 1.5 times the cost of healthcare that the rest of world spends, and as he said they aren't any healthier because of it. If your friend doesn't loosen up and get with the program that country will go bankrupt.
