While I have a self-professed weakness for the kitchen gadget, none of those particularly appeal.

Well, maybe that silicone lid thing.....a bit.

Perfect Bacon Bowl

Still waiting for final decision on Bacon Bowl. If I have bacon, it will be no more than three rashers at one sitting. The bacon bowl requires about eight or ten slices to make the bowl. Does everyone get their own bacon bowl? Remember, there will be at least a cup of fat coming off those ten slices of bacon. I think the bacon bowl is way off the deep end.

for sure...which is the point I guess...also, the result of cooking such a thing and how it looked at home from the perfection of the lab...well...call me jaded but I remember reading that milk commercials use paint...it's a visual necessity for perfection

My mom was doing stuff like that on the bottoms of muffin tins way back in the seventies, lol.

Hey! Don't be knocking bacon with the loaf man! ;)

I make an often requested meatloaf wrapped in a few strips of bacon in the slowcooker which is rather awesome, if I do say so myself. Cooked on a rack, out of the grease, it is neither too dry (because it's a slowcooker) nor too moist( where it falls apart; it slices perfectly) and wee tiny children who refuse to eat meatloaf will even eat this one. :D

In these days of extra lean ground beef, the meat loaf could use a bit of bacon fat and a bit of bacon flauour. I often use half ground beef and half pork sausage meat. and pour off the fat twice during the cooking.
