They have been dumbed down with television, dumbed down by the 24 hour news cycle, dumbed down by Twitter, by Kenye West, by Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and every other idiot who spurs a media apology tour.
Nukes may work when you are fighting an actual country but wouldnt do a damn thing when fighting an ideology, particularly not one that embraces death. Wipe them out and they'll still pop up somewhere else. Syria is not the only place where ISIS has groups/power. They are in Afghanistan, parts of Pakistan and all over northern Africa. A western country doing something like this in the middle east would also be a great recruiting tool for Isis and all the other extremists.
