This article is disturbing. I don't know anything about the linked source newspaper - perhaps Machjo could offer his assessment.

Whatever the source, the story is very unsettling.

New Witness Confirms Existence of Chinese Concentration Camp, Says Organs Removed from Live Victims
By Ji Da
The Epoch Times Mar 17, 2006

The witness, a former employee at the Liaoning Thrombosis Treatment Center of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, and says the bodies of Falun Gong practitioners are cremated immediately after the organs are removed. (The Epoch Times)

A former employee of Liaoning Provincial Thrombosis Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine told The Epoch Times during a recent interview that the Sujiatun Concentration Camp in China was actually a part of a hospital. The concentration camp has engaged in taking organs from Falun Gong practitioners when they were still alive and selling the organs. Since 2001, the concentration camp has secretly detained approximately 6,000 Falun Gong practitioners, none of whom have been able to leave the camp alive. The hospital removed many kidneys, livers, and corneas from the practitioners. After the organ removal, the practitioners were thrown into an incinerator, which was converted from a boiler. Their ashes were dumped together with burned charcoal.

Hmmm... I don't know the accuracy of the article, but won't put it beyond the realm of possibility.

it sounds like propaganda--
but who knows- it could be true

what may be true is that china removes organs from criminals ie-- murderes etc condemned to death
and sells them worldwide
procedes go towards funding the chineese military

as the west and china procede towards collision
there will be more of these sorts of stories some of which will be true-- many of which will be exagerations--and others --fabrication

your avatar--is nice
is it true

i have said that some of the stories would be true

i think it fair to suggest many others would be fabrication-- if its like many previous wars

the story circulating -- about Saddams troops entering a Kuwaiti hospital, unlpugging infant ICU beds then dragging them outside to die
---
that was---- completely false---as is now admitted

just an example

of course-- many other stories regarding saddams abuses-- are clearly true

the point is there will be a mix of falsity and truth-- in these --- demonization type---stories

The story is true.

Some time ago I saw a special report on the organ trade on the CBC's The National, hardly a shelter for right-wing apologists.

The most disturbing part of a very disturbing story is that the condemned sometimeshave their organs removed (kidneys especially) BEFORE their execution. They are taken to the place of execution with bloody bandages taped over their incisions.

As for other organs, guess why the standard form of execution in China is a bullet to the back of the head?

Colpy, I watched that program also. There was another program that I watched that showed Indian People selling their organs to Brokers in India. In the poorer sections of India this is the only means of survival, they interviewed women and men and the Kidneys are the most sought after organ. I think they got around $2000 American for a Kidney, it's so sad.

RE: Prisoners used for or

People are rolled in south america for thier eyes and other organs, it's a disease of the rich if you need new parts and have the cash you can get them, there are private clinics all over the world who perform the operations China is
involved in the trade, and has been for ten years, the story was out that long ago, the demonization of China is in full swing now, quess why?

What would you recommend? Sanctions? Military intervention? Refusal to trade with them altogether?

I agree with you it is disgusting, but unlike the former Soviet Union, the transition in China must be a slow deliberate process. I would expect that they will become a free society within the next decade.

I hope that the young people in China see their way clear to change the future so that atrocious crimes such as this no are longer are as acceptable behavior.

It's a very tough situation.

Funny, I always thought "demonization" meant disparaging something that DIDN'T deserve it.

Sorry to have confused you, I should have said, general demonization, and we will be hearing more of it in the coming days and weeks.

I hope you are right, RCS, but I doubt it.

IMHO China should be isolated economically, and contained militarily.
