KXL job estimate numbers: between 2000 and 3000 short-term construction jobs... "minimal" long-term permanent jobs.

No jobs at terminals, refineries, chem plants, polypropylene based products manufacturing, carpets, paint , clothing, pharma, ag and on and on and on?

U.S. State Department: "...construction would require ~10,000 seasonal workers over periods of between 4 and 8 months; equivalent to ~4000 "average annual" jobs over one year of construction, or ~2000 jobs for each year if the KXL project were to take two years to finish.

Most of the growth in Alberta has been industry outside of oil. You can't measure job growth by just the pipeline itself.

it seems the originator of the job claim number in this thread didn't bother to delineate between direct and indirect job estimates. Of course, actually seeing the numbers would help instead of a clown simply barking "idiot". I wonder if the guys numbers also include estimates for job losses/prevention... cause they exist! Job losses/prevention due to such things as, "higher oil prices, environmental damage, emissions impact on health and climate instability, detrimental effects to the emerging green economy."

has the veto made someone mad? Is he mad?

give the oil pipeline jobs to izzle

they'll be less likely to blow it up when they realize it's their bread and butter.

I jest

where's the conspiracy theorists to say the recent derailment and fire was all staged to garner support for the pipeline?

oh geez, I hope I didn't start something
