before the election I had great hopes for the conservatives, but they ended up being just as bad as the liberals. Let's hope they live up to some of their democratic reform promises.

They aren't Conservatives, they will definately make reforms to democracy so that we won't even recognize it as a democracy, the party intends to follow the American model to the letter. He and his party represent the most disasterous political direction that Canada could take.

The conservatives are worst than the liberals.

They claim to be accountable, but it has huge loopholes. They also try to block of the media.

President Harper, hardly, more like governor Harper.

When we get the conservatives out of office the better. Even at the cost to military funding.

Even at the cost to military funding, I am not going to let Harper screw up this country with his parties ideology. So tough sh*t.

And that is all you got, just go. Or I wouldn't say something nice.

Is that all you conservatives got.

Give Harper a break, boo hoo, the Liberals were worst. Boo hoo.

Harper wanted accountabilty and join America, well that is not going to occur when 65% OF Canada is against him.

They are bitter and Hateful because the Liberals are not in power! So they take every opportunity to label and bash PM Harper with anything that comes to their wee little minds because they have nothing relevant to offer but bitterness and hatefulness.

Mental Midgets.

Of course they forget the Scams and Scandals of the Liberals it's Hypocrisy at it's Finest.

Jersay…Good evening …I hope you had a great day.
Well, I had a wonderful day, Why not? I am represented in Ottawa for the first time in 12 yrs. Also, day after another I see more $ coming out of the ground that is going to make my province richer( that means u will hate us more) and OUR country wealthier …

Jersay … earlier today I left not because that is all that conservatives have got but because I felt my emotions were going to speak and my mind was telling me that it doesn’t how much I disagree with u I still need to respect ur views.

I will not talk about the liberals’ long history of corruption and their scams of stealing your tax money as well as mine.
I don’t want to even compare the Conservatives to the Liberals because it is like comparing a table to an apple.

But if I may I would like to touch a hot topic…

Lowering the flag at half-staff is NOT the only way to honor our soldiers.
If the Liberals or NDP are not happy with the way we honor the soldiers, they can spend that energy by asking for decent pays, benefits, pensions and housing.
When the Liberals were in power I didn’t hear them say that when our troops are sent abroad; they should have the best weapons, clothing, vehicles and equipment. Nor I saw them demanding that they should be equipped with safe planes, subs, and helicopters – not submarines that leak and aircrafts so old that they will fall from the sky.
But today when the conservatives decided not to lower flag at half-mass going back to an 80 yrs tradition; they get criticized only because what else can u criticize them for other than they’re conservatives.

Keep in mind that I have the utmost respect to anyone in the military and ur concerns for us being in Afghanistan is somehow understandable but I think we can honor our soldiers in many other ways than lowering the flag .

TALK IS TASTELESSLY SHOWY, WHERE WAS ACTION WHEN LIBERALS WERE IN POWER.

I suggest that we all relax and wait …give Harper sometimes … and see what is he going to do about his promises. I personally will be first to criticize him if he didn’t deliver what he had promised.

good point. Although this is a touchy subject, lowering the flags to half-staff should not be such a huge issue. You think Harper doesn't support the troops? Did he not make Afghanistan one of his first visits? Did he not promise to increase military funding so that our army can make a better difference in the world? There are two different takes on this issue, and i think both parties care and grieve just like the rest of us for fallen troops, they just have different ways to show it.

No problemo, all capitalists have their very own social safety nets. :D Real ones, not the usual government garbage.

Individual safety nets are fine ITN but those that don't have that luxury will suffer and the National safety net is for the most part gone. I'm worried for the immeadiate future of the planet, things are changing fast, if you're not worried I am. The capitalist side of me also has enough safety net to get by quite nicely come what may, as long as it's not radioactive.

We might point out to Albertans:
1. the oil belongs to Canada
2. some of the lefties here live in Alberta
3. if your province becomes filthy rich on oil at the expense of the rest of Canada, the rest of Canada is just gonna move to Alberta and the province will sink into the tar sands.

TRUE...as a matter of fact the canadian forces will receive a "substantial" infusion of new cash in the first Harper governement budget, Which will be presented next week Finance Minister Jim Flaherty said yesterday "we have a substantial commitement with respect to the military"... The military has been waiting for the green light to get new hardware.

Fuzzy I'm not arguing this. Some people don't like it just because it is Oilberta.
