Let the excuses begin..

Brown's national campaign co-chair John Reynolds sent a letter Thursday to the party's leadership election organizing committee requesting it investigate emails sent by Pierre Poilievre's campaign ahead of last month's deadline to sell $15 memberships to supporters.

Brown's campaign received a "number of complaints" from members who said they purchased new memberships after receiving what appeared to be an "official-looking warning" from Poilievre's team that their membership status was incomplete.

The email specifies it is from Poilievre's campaign.

Wait. . . True Dope pulls out an emergency power meant for wartime or civil insurrection to crush a peaceable protest in the name of noise ordinances, and you're worried about Pete sending out a minor false alarm only a moron would fall for in the first place?

Getting harder and harder to see any daylight between you and the shrieking rightwingers, in tactics anyhow.

Peepee is a joke, I know.
Prime Minister PeePee to the peons & peasants:

The latest allegation of political interference in a criminal investigation — this time the RCMP’s investigation into Canada’s worst mass shooting in Nova Scotia two years ago — is nothing new for the Trudeau government.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the Prime Minister’s Office broke the federal Conflict of Interest Act in 2018 by pressuring then attorney-general Jody Wilson-Raybould to drop fraud and corruption charges against SNC-Lavalin, a powerful Quebec company, in favour of a deferred prosecution agreement.

Trudeau was also accused of political interference in the breach of trust trial of now-retired Vice-Admiral Mark Norman, by speculating about the case even before any charge was laid.

The case against Norman was eventually stayed, meaning the Crown had no reasonable prospect of a conviction.

The latest allegation, emerging from the Mass Casualty Commission probing Canada’s worst mass shooting in which 22 people died, is that the PMO and then public safety minister Bill Blair pressured RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki to release the type of firearms used by murderer Gabriel Wortman.

This to bolster the Liberal government’s political campaign to introduce new gun control laws.

According to notes taken at the time by Nova Scotia RCMP Supt. Darren Campbell, Lucki became angry when he told her the type of weapons could not be released at that time, “because to do so would jeopardize ongoing efforts to advance the U.S. side of the case as well as the Canadian components of the investigation.”

He said Lucki told him and other RCMP officers, “she had promised the Minister of Public Safety and the Prime Minister’s Office that the RCMP would release this information.”

Lia Scanlan, the civilian director of communications for the RCMP in Nova Scotia at the time, told the inquiry Lucki was publicly commenting on issues such as the number of people murdered, “that we (didn’t) even have. She went out and did that. It was all political pressure. That is 100% Minister Blair and the Prime Minister. And we have a Commissioner that does not push back.”

Lucki, Blair and Trudeau have denied interfering with the RCMP investigation.

Trudeau said the government has questions about how the RCMP responded to the mass shooting but he remains confident in Lucki as commissioner.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has finally spoken about allegations that he interfered in the investigation of the Nova Scotia massacre in 2020 for political reasons. His choice of words should set off alarm bells for Canadians who don’t believe politicians should use cops, or tragedies, to advance their political agenda.

In evidence released this week by the Mass Casualty Commission, the public inquiry looking into the massacre that took place over April 18-19, 2020, allegations were made more than once of political interference. Handwritten notes from one of the leads in the investigation said that RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki had demanded information be released that officers said would compromise the investigation.

There was influence exerted, there was pressure applied by Trudeau or someone in his office for the Commissioner to push for the release of information, it’s just that Trudeau doesn’t think it was in any way inappropriate. It was just the right amount of pressure and influence and after all, it was for a good reason, meaning something he wanted to do.

This is the same way he spoke about the pressure he put on Jody Wilson-Raybould, his former attorney-general. Trudeau met with Wilson-Raybould and his staff held several meetings with her to try and convince her to change her mind in a criminal prosecution.

When she wouldn’t do what he wanted, he shuffled her out of that cabinet spot. He effectively fired her for refusing to interfere in a criminal matter.

When caught, Trudeau first called the story false and then declared that he didn’t use any “undue” influence over Wilson-Raybould. Eventually, he said he acted — meaning interfered in a criminal case — to save jobs so the ends justified the means.

Now, he’s saying he didn’t unduly pressure the RCMP Commissioner to release information. When we see further evidence that he or his staff actually did this, Trudeau will say that it was all for the greater good of making Canadians safer with his gun bans. The rest at the above Link….

The House of Commons adjourned for its summer break on Thursday, but the Liberal government and the RCMP will still face scrutiny in the coming weeks on alleged interference in the police investigation into the 2020 Nova Scotia mass shooting.

Conservatives, hoping to get some answers during the recess, have requested a meeting of the House public safety committee to be held no later than July 25.

Um. . . let us assume everything mentalfloss says about this dastardly crime is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. . .

So what? It was a bit of puffery to jazz up the conservatives to give some money. Wouldn't even bother truth-in-advertising laws.

If that's the worst you got on Poilievre, mentalfloss, you're pretty much down to insulting his taste in ties.

If conservatives were smart they'd elect Leslyn Lewis as their party leader. Then anyone who criticizes her would automatically be a racist, a sexist AND a misogynist. The Cons gotta learn to play the ALT-left game.

I would hope the Cons continue the distinctions between them and the Libs.

But allow me to state, once again and for the record, I am nothing but an interested observer from a (mostly) friendly country. I neither have nor want any say in how Canadians run their country. I wish y'all well, and define "well" as equality and opportunity, with majority (or plurality) rule and due respect to the rights of the minority.

The lefty liberals in the conservative party must be running scared as hell that Pierre Poilievre could win the leadership of the conservative party. The lefty's must find someway of trying to stop Pierre from going any further in his aim to become the leader of the conservative party. FO all you lefty liberals in the conservative party. Go join Turdeau's liberal socialist party. You should feel right at home in that Marxist party. Works for me. (y)

With the adjournment of the liberal Marxist party in Ottawa for the summer freedom of speech and assembly and what we have left of our gun rights should be safe from further attacks for now from that Marxist dictator in Ottawa. Personally, I would like to see the HofC stay adjourned until the next federal election. That would work well for me. (y)

More from Mentalfloss’s PM PeePee’s open & transparent governance:

Justice Canada says it should have consulted the inquiry looking into Canada’s worst mass shooting in history instead of withholding critical information from them for nearly four months.

This admission of fault came on Friday after the Mass Casualty Commission confirmed that it did not receive the entirety of RCMP superintendent Darren Campbell’s handwritten notes, including the pages that describe allegations of political interference in order to advance the Liberals’ gun-control agenda.

Whoopsies again….maybe a coming apology that we can all learn from?

They describe RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki’s attempts to make Nova Scotia RCMP officials disclose the types of firearms that were used in the shooting, days after it happened, since it was information she had “promised” to Bill Blair, then Minister of Public Safety, and the Prime Minister’s Office.

The Commission’s investigations director Barbara McLean said that the inquiry has sought to obtain “an explanation” why these four pages were missing from the original disclosure in mid-February, and is also “seeking assurance that nothing else has been held back as per direction from subpoenas”.

(Sure starting to smell like WE or SNC Lavatory or Aga Kahn or the Admiral Mark Norman Liberal Judicial Interference or some of their several other scandals that would be criminal offences elsewhere)

In a response on Friday evening, a spokesperson for Justice Canada said that those notes from Campbell “required further assessment of whether they were privileged”, but a review determined that it was not the case. They were then disclosed at the end of May.

“While it is a usual practice to review documents for privilege before disclosure, the Commission was not advised that some pages of the notes of senior officers were being reviewed for privilege,” said Ian McLeod in an email sent to the National Post…..& these are the Clowns that wish to impose Bill C-11 on our nation that might make exposing these things illegal as “misinformation or disinformation?”

The federal government was already under fire for the allegations made in Campbell’s handwritten notes, but the idea that some of that information was withheld caused another political storm on Friday.

The federal Conservatives are now requesting that Justice Minister David Lametti appear to testify in front of members of the Public Safety committee during the summer to explain why these four pages were held back for months by his department.

“I don’t see how this isn’t some sort of cover-up. It is too coincidental that those very political pages were withheld,” said the party’s Public Safety critic Raquel Dancho in an interview. The rest at the above Link….
