Hi,

When you sign into Yahoo! mail, it has these two links under the sign in button. And one of those two links says Forgot Your ID or password? Click on that and then answer the following questions in it and hopefully, you'll get your password back.

Hope this helps!

Coddfish - that was good of you

I am terrible at passwords and guess what I have them all listed in my computer..... stupid eh?

Unless I print them out (which would have to be at least ten copies I hide around my house).... I
forget them.

I am so glad other people have that problem too.

I know you're not really supose to do this but I use the same one for everything. The only different one I have is my online banking. But whenever you go to a site that requires you to 'join for free' I use the same one so if I get to a site I think I may have joined some time ago I just try my usual user name and password to see if I did.

I do the same thing, sort of. I have one password (with a couple derivatives based on what the site requires) for regular stuff and a different one for financial sites. With one easy hack, someone could do everything from post here to change the content on my websites. Probably not a good idea, but heck Im not important (or rich) enough to bother hacking into.

I have a method for turning certain words into bizarre strings of characters and numbers. I remember the method and feel perfectly safe writing the original word down in relation to a given site.

Shopping online is just as safe as shopping in real life. I have met more people who have had their bank information stolen through a corrupted ATM than through a corrupted server, in fact. Look for the little lock icon and stay away from fly by night companies. Also, keep your antivirus software up to date and if you hang around seedy parts of the internet, get yourself some protection. Theoretically, online shopping should be safer because a real person should never even see your personal information. Meanwhile, in real life when a person inspects your credit card they can memorize every digit of it.

As for getting your password back, I would recommend trying to contact Yahoo through conventional means if it is really important, or just moving on otherwise.
