I think that was our neighbour. He ignores the rule in our neighbourhood residential park that says all motorbikes must either be mufflered to a something or other decibel rate (I assume that means within the range of a normal car or something), otherwise they must be "walked" to a designated point down the road from our neighbourhood where there are no houses before being started up.
I'll admit to being less then thoroughly acquainted with the BC First Nations, but if I remember correctly you stated you live on a Reserve. But I can find no bylaw that reads as you have said here, on the reserves in BC.

Perhaps you can better acquaint me with it.

Thanx in advance.

Just to note that I did not ignore a courteous enquiry. I answered via PM as it involved location details.

Thank you for your candid and illuminating PM.

You definitely set me straight.

I guess my reply came across to harsh to have sparked a dialogue though. Sorry, I don't actually know how to write in "pleasant".

You're very welcome.

I was trying to be as informative as I could be, considering I don't have the formal documentation to hand. So a lot of it is anecdotal, in our experience, the documentation we have relating to our house and what the Band Chief has explained to us in casual conversations. (Very patient with naive non-native questions, friendly guy.)

The Band recently published a lovely soft cover book on their history, the fascinating pictures and facts about the lands that form this Reserve, the projects they're working on, etc. Would you like me to PM how to get a copy? (PM 'cos the title identifies the Reserve & so exactly where we live.)

No problem, I always appreciate candor.

Sure. Thanx again.

I've been told many times I write harsh. I don't recognize I am or am not, so I can't tell.

But can I take that as you recognize your original assessment may have been wrong?

Oh, I think you can. :D

I finally got hold of someone at the Band office to ask about how you'd go about getting a copy of the book. She said that the original and only printing of it sold out months ago, which came as a pleasant surprise to them. But that it took a lot of work and a long time to get the funding for it. They plan on printing an updated version, but nothing definite in the works at present as to when. So if a new printing comes out before I'm chucked out of CC, which is highly unlikely judging by... well, extremely unlikely... , I will ensure you get the info ASAP.

But can I take that as you recognize your original assessment may have been wrong?
