Is it just my imagination or have you noticed that the media doosnt seem to ask the "MED" questions to people they interview? I read of numerous interviews where it was stated in the article that there was a history of depression yet not one journalist mentioned if they even asked anyone if anyone know of the mother having benn on meds... Of course a person doesnt have to answer but I would like to know if the question was even posed. SSRI's are a co0mmon thread in these type of killings. People need to have the facts if we are to make good decisions for ourselves and our families. These black box warnings should be on every billboard on every major street. I really think there many average people in society, who are normal, good people, parents, and community people who really have no clue about the side effects of these drugs. Its all over the net.

I'm fully aware of the horror stories in graphic detail.

My wife works in mental health. I've known alllll about SSRIs for about 15 years now.

Hundreds of thousand of lives wasted and familes destroyed, specialized teams in maternity wards that deal with nothing but babies who spend the first weeks of their live going through a living hell of SSRI withdrawl and their lives forever destroyed all in the name of profit.

Hey! There is no such thing as SSRI withdrawl, it is just discontinuation syndrome.

Another murder suicide.. this time a 15 year old boy killed his family in New Mexico the other day... So far no reports of meds... but that doesnt mean anything.. the media doesnt seem to want to ask the question... and in so many of these horrific tragedies, the tox reprts dont get released. I just recently learned that if the klller is dead , then no chrges get laid, and if no charges get laid no reports are public (Canada and the US) and if the killer lives many times the medical reports and toxicology reports are sealed..... The public keeps being robbed of the information on these drugs ..

this poor boy was a victim murder. He was killed by his friend who was suffering the side effects of an SSRI or antipsychotic ..

What I dont understand is that the side effects of these drugs are written insode the box. (homicidal ideation) ....

Do you think the majority of society does in fact know that these side effects are known by the pharmaceutical companies?

Its not a secret.. the leaflets with the warning is right inside every box..

Then theses horrific tragedies happen and many smart people write off the tragedy to "mental illness" and not to the drug that is known to cause the suicidal ideation..

You are so right about the antidepressant ads paying for the media ..

Did you that after the Newtown shooting the news channels stopped the mind altering ads until the end of Dec?

It is so frustrating remembering the media interviewing in Newtown CT.. the neighbor and the previous babysitter both told the journalist that Lanza was taking meds or had been taking meds.... the journalists changed the subject... Not one major show has discussed the known side affects of these legal mind altering drugs (suicidal and homicidal ideation ) once..

They havent taken any viewer calls that mention psycotropic drugs.. all they have done is distract the public with gun control.

And the vast majority seem to have taken the bait. Not that I condone guns at all, but guns dont have black box warnings with known side affects stating that the gun can cause suicidal homicidal ideation.

That's really not normal. Yeah people fall into pits of depression and kill their kids, but women typically smother, drown, gas, or poison their kids. They virtually never stab them. And yes, I get how sad it is that it happens often enough for red flags to go off over how she killed them.

Im not sure that the "method" or the "how's" set off any flags for me..

The flags that went off for me was hearing that allegedly she had suffered from depression.

That caused me to wonder if she was taking antidepressants or antipsychotics...

We know that these psychotropic drugs have black box warnings (which are inserted leaflets inside the box) stating side effects:
which are ... agressive and violent behavior , as well as suicidal and homicidal ideation and it also says that it can happen while taking or when withdrawing....

I would really like to know if she was taking or withdrawing from or had a change in dosage in anyone of those types of meds...

lol I like your thinking. We need more facts to emerge before we can even hazard a guess as to what happened and the motive behind it.

I wish we could rely on our surroundings (media govt law enforcement etc) to bring us the facts.

Sadly, we willnot be brought anything.. No toxicology reports, and no medical history..

I have recenlty learned that if no charges are laid in cases like these the medical history and toxicolgy reports remain with file at law enforcement.

When there are charges lain in cases like this (where the perp lives) then tox reports and the medical history usually become sealed with gag orders ...

I used to wait for things to be written and I finally realized that society has to be more assertive especialy where legal mind altering prescription drugs are concerned.

On account that we already know the adverse side effects can be induced suicide and homicidal ideation, I keep wondering why people arent more worried about these drugs.. but I am starting to see that many people are waiting to be told things and when they arent told, we rest assured..... Instead we need to start asking the questions and stop waiting.

If you mention a drug type, you can peg who the manufacturer is. They have no issues about saying somebody was drunk after 24 beer and crashed into a mall full of people because saying beer doesn't put it on a company's head but if you say "so and so who killed 26 people afte rabruptly halting paxil...." you can put GSK in the spotlight.

Not at all no but you'll find far more on cable news than network because cable news in cheaper to advertise on.Cheaper means more frequent and 60sec long winded ads that rattle off the 30 direct effects. Yes direct effects. Side effects is double speak like calling withdrawl discontinuation syndrome.

Dear Easton and Corchis family,

I offer my sincerest condolances. I personally believe that sadly you are more victims of a "legal" pharmaceutical drug, and not "depression."

Sadly, in any media on this tragedy, I have not heard one reporter ask anyone the question....

1.)Was Alison taking any legal mind altering drugs?

2.) If so, for how long and had the dosage or drug been changed recently?

3.) Was Alison withdrawing from one type of a mind altering drug so to go another one, or to have a "dry out" period?

Sadly, I have no expectation that toxicology and medical reports will be shared with the public which only means that another horrendous tragedy happened at the hands of legal pharmaceutical drugs where society will loose out in learning to stop accepting these drugs into their families. Children included. The research is on the net. No different that the decline in the Drummondville tragedy where we havent heard of the pharmaceuticals in that tragedy either. No different from Andrea Yates.

What happened in this tragedy is a prime example of what the black box warnings say can happen to people...delusional loss of reality, agression and violent behavior suicidal and homicidal ideation.

If this horrific loss fell under the known side effects of psychotropic drugs, I pray the family will speak out after time has brought them some peace.
