This has nothing to do with war.
This has to do with all those things that aren't war and that Canada should not even be involving ourselves in

Whose opinion are you repeating? You are not smart enough to have an opinion on this matter.

They've built 15 with 23 under construction! The RCN has a total of 12 Cold War Tech Frigates!

You make it too easy.

U.S. Navy orders additional Littoral Combat Ship

... way too easy.

Meanwhile a good portion of Canadian "sea power" is dock side because of 3 foot swells.

And let us not forget that the flagship

of the Cdn Atlantic fleet is so decrepit

it cannot leave harbour on a warm sunny day without catching fire and needing to be TOWED HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The ancient frigates are in slightly better condition- one of the RCN frigates was in Norwegian waters last summer for NATO exercises and the worn out engines caught fire and the hsip had to be towed to harbour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Canada currently has about 120 special forces soldiers in Iraq and smaller teams working with counterparts in several other countries, including Belize, Jamaica, Niger and Malaysia."

Canada not at war with any of these places.

Are we?

If you're an American Marine, I'll eat my hat.

I’ve suspected a Russian but he/she would be failing miserably if that were the case. I wouldn’t be surprised if ES was a Dipper, here to try and make conservatives and Americans look stupid. If you consider, I define myself as a conservative and was a card carrying member of the Reform Party, one would think I’d have something in common with him/her.

You are a dumb ass.

I am sure we have teams working in the US, and we aren't at war with them either.

WOW!

"The fires and loss of power are not linked"...................this is LIE-beral speak meaning there was NO sabotage or enemy action!!!!!!!!!!

Just dont ask LIE-berals any hard questions like HOW OLD ARE THOSE SHIPS?????????????????????????????

The fires and loss of power are a natural reaction to using worn old antiques on the open ocean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LIE-berals think it is none of our business how rotted out the Cdn military is and how hard it would be for us to defend ourselves from any threat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Toronto was built in 1990 and the Halifax in 1992.
Halifax FFH330 is the lead ship of the class ...launched in 1988, commissioned in 1992. Toronto FFH333 was launched in 1990 and commissioned in 1993.

It take a long time to kit out something as complex as a warship and Halifax took a bit longer as they fixed their various boo-boos on the first one. I heard from a Naval Architect in that biz at the time (working on re-fitting our Destroyers) that Halifax was too heavy when they launched her and they spent some more design time cutting out the unnecessary bits and pieces.

The Frigates aren't worn out antiques ... yet. They will be by the time they are replaced, though.

Poor old HMCS Protecteur sure was when she caught fire in the Pacific, though.

Sigh.

What a beautiful vessel when she was new ...

It wouldn't have anything to do UN mandate for support of those countries? Or requests from those countries Gov. to help train or review their military? We are also in Ukraine to help train their troops, the RCMP are also in Ukraine and other countries training their police forces in our way of fighting crime and corruption. Does that mean the RCMP are there to investigate their countries for crime?

How nice........................if you like looking at old vessels maybe you should visit the Muskoka Wooden Boat Show...............

It just IS NOT PROPER that some of the oldest antiques still sailing should be described by LIE-berals as front line Royal Cdn Navy craft!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And is it not a REMARKABLE TREND...............how many RCN Antiques CATCH FIRE on a regular basis????????????

Who cares what it has to do with.

The article says we are thinking about doing something in order to fight wars - then lists several things that are not war

That is the sum total of what I said.
