I guess if Andrea's NDP do not perform this election, she'll be looking for a new job. Somehow, I think she'll land on her feet.

Does anyone here intend on voting NDP?

Adam: Ontario election is Andrea Horwath's last chance as NDP leader
-Mohammed Adam

Andrea Horwath has her work cut out in what may well be her last election campaign.

At first glance, everything about the Ontario election points to a strong NDP showing: a governing party that appears to have overstayed its welcome; a deeply unpopular premier and a newly elected Progressive Conservative party leader about whom many Ontarians have serious doubts. The question is: Can Horwath seize the moment?

Of course, it’s not going to be easy. But if Horwath can’t win now, or at the very least drag the NDP out of its perpetual third-place finish when Kathleen Wynne is so unpopular and many have doubts about Doug Ford’s fitness for office, when is the party ever going to win?

Ford hasn’t shown his hand but soon will. The Liberals are already framing the election as a battle between Wynne and Ford, essentially between the good and the ugly.

“This election will come down to the clearest, starkest choice in this province’s history,” Wynne told the Economic Club of Canada. “We can go forward with the agenda I have outlined or we can go backward with Doug Ford. It is a choice between care and cuts.”

No mention of the NDP. In this existential battle, it is irrelevant, in Wynne’s view. If it seems like déjà vu all over again, it is. Wynne is returning to the tried-and-true strategy that propelled her past Tim Hudak and Horwath in 2014. It is a powerful message but if the NDP is to make any headway in this campaign, it must not let that narrative take hold. This is the NDP leader’s third campaign as leader and she’ll have no excuses if she fails.

I don't really see how the NDP will make gains in Ontario. A few seats taken from the Liberals perhaps. The author of this article must be an NDP supporter.

With Ford the winner, now is the NDP's big chance
- Tom Parkin

Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne’s Liberals have run out of hats and rabbits. They’ve run out of time. They’re toast.

But new PC Leader Doug Ford is no improvement.

Ontarians deserve something better than a horrific choice between Wynne and Ford. And that gives Ontario NDP Leader Andrea Horwath the best winning chance for her party since Bob Rae in 1990.

A Horwath win would have considerable impact across Canada—influencing Trudeau’s positions on issues including health funding, pharmacare, childcare and taxes.

In less than 90 days, all data suggests Wynne will be done as premier and Liberal leader. The Wynne Liberals won’t just lose, they’ll be devastated.

He better hope that he's more successful than his brother. Like Trudeau, Jagmeet needs an image consultant.
