I see it everywhere I go. People saying kids are lazy. Even all over this forum.
They just don't follow the thought to its conclusion as why they are lazy.
Why would you bother trying when you know the world is doomed.

Most of the kids they accuse of being "lazy" aren't. Plain and simple. It's old farts talking out their a$$ and forgetting about what they were truly like when they were young. If a child feels the world is doomed, then it is up to that childs parent to get him or her help and show that child how wrong they are.

Welcome to BHO's economy.
The boomerang generation isn't a US only phenomenon...its happening in Canada, in the UK, in Japan, in the EU...in fact the phenomenon showed up in Canada before it showed up in the US. Welcome to reality Walter.

I agree with you. Gerryh. Parents need to be educated that this may be happening.

Most parents probably don't know this is happening. Id say a good portion has no clue some kids feel this world is doomed.
If a whole generation of kids start giving up.

We can all agree how that can become very problematic. I have reason to believe this is happening now in America.

This is nothing new. I grew up during the 60's and 70's. During the height of the cold war. Growing up under the constant threat of nuclear annihilation. There is always the doomsayers, it's not new to this generation.

Again, I agree with you,
I just don't think it's common knowledge.

I don't think we have explored the consequence on our young children's psychy.
I don't think the average parent understands that this "doomed feeling" is very damaging.

I think people need to be educated about it.

I don't think it's as prevalent as you think it is.

Maybe not, but it's still happening.

It's only going to get worst if we don't acknowledge it's happening.
Ignoring it would be a mistake in my opinion.
It's great ammunition for you against all the doomsayers.

that's too bad...they need to spend some time with adults who can empower them and help them to understand that the world is what they make it and that they can make it a great place and make a difference for the people around them...

You got that totally right, Sal.
