Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has long been pushing for a direct meeting with Putin in order to make progress towards ending Europe's deadliest war for 80 years.

Putin said on Friday that he did not see much point in such a meeting because "it will be practically impossible to reach an agreement with the Ukrainian side on key issues".

However, he reiterated an offer he made earlier this week to host Zelenskiy for talks in Moscow.

"I said: I'm ready, please, come, we will definitely provide working conditions and security, a 100% guarantee.

"But if they tell us: 'we want to meet with you, but you have to go somewhere else for this meeting', it seems to me that these are simply excessive requests on us."

Troops in what capacity? 100,000 western troops given discharges so they can take an oath slap on the Tryzub as Ukrainian?

Sounds like time for a cage match only the real Putin won't show up. To also think he is busy chatting with Xi about immortality after all the people he has killed shows the extent of his ignorance. I would not want his life.

Trump ensures Iryna Zarutska not an anonymous murder victim
While the president talked about the sneak stabbing slaying of the Ukrainian refugee in North Carolina, it was also Elon Musk and patriots on X who brought to light the video of this repugnant homicide

Thanks to President Trump and an outraged public, media and the woke left won’t be able to cover up the “evil” slaying of Iryna Zarutska.

Thanks to President Donald Trump and an outraged public on social media platforms, American corporate media and the woke left won’t be able to cover up the “evil” slaying of Iryna Zarutska.

At the Charlotte, N.C., pizza shop where she worked, the ruthless slaying of Iryna is certainty not something they could possibly sweep under the carpet like many tried to do.

At Zepeddies’, they have lived with the deadly reality of this gutless murder every day since it happened Aug. 22.

The 23-year-old staffer, who fled war-torn Ukraine for a better life in the United States, was “absolutely” a wonderful employee and a friend, said her employer. The staff, a co-worker told the Toronto Sun, are handing it “as well as everyone can.”

But this is a big loss. And a travesty of justice as well.

It took a while, but the media is finally covering the barbaric slaying on a Charlotte train. That it took them so long is a blight that won’t soon be forgotten or repaired.

“There are evil people,” Trump said Monday. “We’re all people of religion, but there are evil people, and we have to confront that. I just give my love and hope to the family of the young woman who was stabbed . . . in Charlotte by a madman, a lunatic — just got up and started, it’s right on the tape, not, not really watchable because it’s so horrible — but just viciously stabbed, she’s just sitting there . . . if we don’t handle that, we don’t have a country.”

It’s so outrageous that it happened and that it took the president to bring up this murder in a national discussion. The damage is done.

Already mistrusting of media bias, rightly or wrongly, the public has already decided this heinous slaying of a Ukrainian refugee was being covered up.

From X owner and world’s richest person Elon Musk to Libs of TikTok there is outrage: Not just at the wicked crime but at the selective and biased way it did not make mainstream media until it was shamed into finally going there.

Edited video of the crime is as horrific as one can ever see. It shows is an innocent Iryna still wearing her Zepeddies’ Pizzeria T-shirt and hat while getting on the train Aug. 22 and sitting down to head home after her shift.

She sat in a seat and looked at her smartphone oblivious to who was behind her and what was to come in the minutes ahead.

The video shows a Black man with what appeared to be long dreadlocked hair tucked under a red hoodie and artificial nails on his fingertips. It’s unknown if Iryna thought she chose a seat in front of a woman or didn’t notice the rider at all.

But what is on the video shows this man taking out a small pocketknife, putting it into his right hand, standing up over her and plunging it into her neck.

The footage stops at the graphic murder, but it does show him heading toward the exit of the train, taking off the red hoodie and the extensive blood drops all along the floor way.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police arrested 34-year-old Decarlos Brown Jr. and charged him with first –degree murder. Out on cashless bail on a robbery charge, Brown has had a long history of criminality – and 14 previous headshots to prove that. He was taken to hospital but will face trial for this gutless murder.

It’s as gross as anything can be.

What is also gross is it never made it to national media – the same media that covered every inch of the George Floyd death at the hands of police in Minnesota and the case of Daniel Penny, who put a man named Jordan Neely in a fatal chokehold to protect a rider on the New York subway.

Penny was charged but acquitted. Had he been on this train with Iryna, perhaps she would be alive today.

She came very close to be an anonymous murder victim.

Musk reposted an X tweet by Matt Van Swol that said “here’s a list of all the news networks who have NOT covered the Charlotte NC story: – NYTimes – CNN – Washington Post – MSNBC – NPR – USA Today – Reuters – Axios – ABC News – PBS Every single one of them wrote stories on Daniel Penny… …do you get it yet?”

A tweet by EndWokeness said “74,221 AP articles about George Floyd 0 AP articles about Iryna Zarutska.”

This may soon change. But it would not have if not for X and Trump.

That terrifying security video making its way to social media was the game changer. It may not send protesters to the streets like the Floyd videos did, or spark a movement to actually have racism courses taught in workplaces as a result. But what it has done is put on the front burner that it is unacceptable to see a young woman murdered like this simply for sitting on a train.

“This is a greater outrage than the death of every BLM martyr combined times a thousand,” tweeted Matt Walsh.

But whether it’s a racial story or a safety story, one thing for sure: It is a story. It should have been covered without any pressure.

Another thing is this is a wakeup call for safety on public transit.

While this happened in the United States, Toronto can’t be smug in its reaction when right here in our city we have had many deaths and attacks of a similar ilk on our subways and street cars. A couple of recent cases that come to mind are:

Vanessa Kurpiewska, 31, of Toronto, was fatally stabbed at High Park Station on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022. PHOTO BY HANDOUT /Toronto Police

Vaness Kurpiewska was stabbed to death Dec. 8 at High Park station, resulting in first-degree murder charges against Neng Jia Jin, 52. And Nyima Dolma, 28, was set on fire June 17 on a bus at Kipling station.

Nyima Dolma, 28, died weeks after a fire attack while riding a TTC bus in June 2022.

Nyima Dolma, 28, died weeks after a fire attack while riding a TTC bus in June 2022.While politicians tend to downplay these incidents and say it’s still a safe city, the truth is it’s not a safe city when there are hundreds of homeless, drug addicts, emotionally disturbed or people recently released from jail out there. There are also cases of people jumping the gate and going onto transit without paying, effectively calling it their home.

There are incidents every day on the TTC involving such people and every once in a while it becomes violent or extreme.

While you have political players like Democratic Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles saying “we will never arrest our way out of issues such homelessness and mental health” and people should not be “villainizing those who struggle with their mental health or those who are unhoused,” you have weakness on display when authorities throw in the white towel and say dangerous people are now in charge and the onus is on innocent people stay clear of them.

People know what this is and they are not buying what the woke left are selling.

A GoFundMe crowd funding effort — now at (US)$85,000 U.S. — says Iryna “had recently arrived in the United States, seeking safety from the war and hoping for a new beginning. Tragically, her life was cut short far too soon” which is “an irreparable loss for her family.”

All murders are irreparable. Thanks to X, we now know about this case.

While there are efforts among the censorship crowd to have the information about this horrific homicide taken down from Wikipedia and buried from the public, there’s no getting around the fact that the cat is out of the bag.

R.I.P. Iryna Zarutska.

You may not have had any help in life, but in death, there are many who are working hard to keep your memory alive.
