U.S., Europeans discussing banning Russian oil imports, Blinken says​

The United States and European partners are exploring banning Russian oil imports, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Sunday, but stressed the importance of maintaining steady oil supplies globally.

"We are now in very active discussions with our European partners about banning the import of Russian oil to our countries, while of course, at the same time, maintaining a steady global supply of oil," Blinken said in an interview on NBC's "Meet the Press" show.

Interesting thing about the bans. TurdOWE made a great news splash by proclaiming he would ban Russian oil. Trouble is Canada hasn't bought any Russian oil since 2020. When this was pointed out to the Prime Moron, he upped it to refined products as well. WHich account for something like 6
5 of our gas and diesel imports.
Hawaii OTH imports a significant part of the oil from Russia.
