That game was a good old ass handing.....
The Canes didnt really have much chance to play the puck the Oilers were to busy playing keep away..... The most important thing is, that they seem to have Cam ward figured out.

One thing we don't often get anymore,

is a Canadian team in the final. The whole system sometimes seems designed to play the Canadian teams off against each other till they are gone. I thank the Edmonton Oilers for giving us something to cheer about. The Oilers have certainly proven themselves capable of winning the Stanley cup final and I will likely yell myself hoarse during the final game. Go Edmonton!!!

What an amazing game. What an amazing series.

It truly is too bad one team had to lose. This was a fantastic Stanley Cup.

The second year (or third?) in a row because the Tampa-Calgary series was also excellent. But this was better because they had the new rules in and the hockey was more free-flowing.

The NHL had been such a garbage league for so long. It had become boring, with everyone playing the trap and all the clutching and grabbing. I had stopped watching the NHL for a long time. The likes of the New Jersey Devils and the Dallas Stars had made it almost unbearable to watch.

Not this year though.

The difference was Ward. Without Ward, Edmonton would be the champions.

I thought there were three defining moments

1. When Edmonton was up 3-0 in the second period of the first game and Brind'amour scored. Edmonton was all over Carolina, and that goal snapped Carolina out of their daze.

2. Roloson getting hurt. Roloson was outstanding. If he had played the whole series, Edmonton may have won.

3. Tonight, when the Oilers had a 5-on-3 advantage at the 16:00 mark of the second period and didn't score. I thought that was a golden opportunity to get back into the game.

So, its painful if you're an Oiler fan. But if you are an Oiler fan, if at the beginning of the year, someone would have told you the Oilers would have gotten all the way to the final, you probably would have taken that.

Good synopsis Toro. This sure beat watching the neutral zone rodeo. It was also great to see the refs let the players play and not call every silly ghost infraction.

This might sound crazy but one of the defining moments of the this game was the opening face off. Brind'amour won it in textbook fashion. That immediately set the tone, and the Canes fed off of it. I've never seen a guy win so many one-sided face-offs as he did in the first period. Aside from that he wasn't much of a factor. The rest of the team carried their weight and his the remainder of the game.

My hat's off to the Oilers. They were great. Too bad anyone had to lose. Reminds me a lot of the Canucks-Rangers 94'.

My boyfriend went to the game (hes a marine in NC) and he held up the phone a few times during the game so that i could hear. Than he called after to brag about it.

But good for the Oilers for even making it this far. Next year man..next year.

I guess it was one win too many for Oilers. I'm a big believer in Game 7 home court advantage. So, even thogh Edmonton had the momentum, I wasn't really suprised by the end result.
