The Edmonton goal that was denied was a bit of garbage as well so I guess things even out. I thought Edmonton's play was a lot more solid. If they win the next one, it's a brand new series.

I don't see much difference between these teams. Any team with a 3-1 lead has the advantage of course but this isn't like watching someone trying to knock off a dynasty. A win by the Oil in Carolina would make it awfully interesting.

sigh. That was hard to watch. Oilers looked fizzled a bit to me last nite. Hope they can rally themselves for a mother of a battle to even this out a bit next game.

Ooops, sorry Juan.....
RAHHHHHH OILERS! :wav:

I was hoping till the last whistle

that Edmonton would pop one in and force overtime. The team did fizzle a bit, but the refereeing can take some of the blame. That hooking call on Jason Smith was a complete joke. In that third period everytime Edmonton got some flow going, there was another penalty. Don't get me wrong. Carolina was the better team last night. To survive, Edmonton has got to score more goals. If they play better under pressure, like some people say, they should be a real powerhouse in Carolina. :p

I donno fellas, I have whatched every Game this series, and it seems that with out rolli edmonton is really going to have to play the best hockey ever, Jossi Markennum is an ok goalie and has even risen tot he ocation, but his best is not good enough.

What edmonton needs to do is play Larouqe alot more, anyone else notice that he was playing great last night, trying to make plays always going for the puck? Thye need him out there to be a physical threat to players liek commadore who are strong and skilled, they also need to stop playing Peca so much, he has been like a duck in the dessart for the last 3 games.

I thought Markannen was very good. He did his job. The problem with the Oil is lack of scoring on the power play. A team should win any game that it allows two goals.

Wasn't that a pretty goal?

If there is any such thing as momentum in sports, Edmonton should have a bit after tonight. The refs did their usual crappy job. That penalty in the overtime was all but invisible. The tying goal by Carolina should never have counted. If the referee loses sight of the puck he is supposed to blow his whistle. Anybody remember a similar goal two games ago by Edmonton that was disallowed for exactly that reason?

Anyway, they won.....Yay Edmonton.. :p :p :p

Edmonton must feel pretty good about going to game six at home. If they pull it off I think you can flip a coin for game 7. Ward made some big saves in the 3rd but overall I thought he looked shaky. I think the pressure is starting to set in with him.

I have to agree with Don Cherry and ask what the hell 2 forwards were doing on defense for the Carolina powerplay. They looked like Abbott and Costello.

There is a hockey rule that should be cast in stone:

"The last man back never carries the puck out of his own end through traffic." That is something that is drummed into player's heads in PeeWee.

Ya, forgetting Peewee stuff in the game you could win the Stanley Cup. Amazing.

Game 6

What are the odds? Is there any such thing as momentum? Edmonton by two? Will it be noisy in Edmonton? :p :p I guess we'll find out in about five hours. Good luck Oilers...

Now, in Game 7........... :p

Hey Zan

They did good. Beat'em 4 -0 and out shot them by a wide margin. I think Carolina will have their hands full in the seventh. I'm picking Edmonton to win. It won't be a walk over but they will win.

Yeah, I would think all the pressure is going to be on the Hurricanes. They were up 3 - 1, and now have to fight for their life. That would always be hard to explain to the home fans. The big thing is, that Edmonton now know they can be beat...
