Thank you for "getting" my early morning rambling.

You are a delight to read on a forum and your clarity in communication is a treat for all of us.

LOL ITN

You still asleep?

I think JM's writings are what I would like to say but get stuck on the right words - he has them ready to use like old friends.

I am now following him around like he is a rock star but I have to keep quiet and not answer everything he writes or he will find me as tiresome as you know me to be.

I have to read JM's posts over and over until I get the rhythm and cadence of the thoughts he is putting out.

I think he makes clear sense but that is no indication of any talent on my part. I find he is focused upon certain things and digs those attributes out of each post he encounters which he finds challenging. He compliments and complements the writers.

It is much easier to just say "No disagree" or "Yup agree" and go into proof of that opinion....but JM seems to want to find the best of both worlds in dissecting views and opinions, giving credit of thought and validation to the writers.

He is truly an ambassador (or what ambassadors should aspire to)...however that title brings Albright to my mind and I now have to go wash out my mouth!

Thanks again, Wednesday's Child.

I do not like repudiating another person's view
in total, because invariably some of the points in
their argument are accurate.

The essential nature of any argument is that both
sides really do have a piece of the truth and that
gives rise to their passion.

They know they see something true.
So does the other.

And how can you cancel that ?

To cancel another person's view is showing them
you ignore some real points, very real to them.

The overall argument of someone else might be
wrong, but often the particulars are not or vice versa
the overall argument might be right, but the
particulars are not.

In the end, the argument, the search for truth,
the endless talking must give way to a decision.

And ITN, riddle me that !!

That's the riddle for all of us, eh ?

I promised myself I would to give you a rest from my relentless chatter, yet here I am thank you for your repsonse which was very clear and no doubt ITN will comprehend without a problem, as have I.

Discussion and exchange of thought as you say is imperative, and with this goal in mind, we must strive to ensure our young are not tainted by bias and misinformation, offering one set of "laws and rules" which may be a reflection of the teacher or parent, without offering alternative viewpoints even if they are repugnant.

It is what I found so interesting about the thread on poor old Truman being tried for war crimes - discussing the impact on the Japanese as well as making things "easier" for the allied forces in the Pacific region. Whether more lives were saved or not may never be answered - depending upon the telling of it.

To rob the young of a vision of both sides to each part of history is to endanger civilization from realizing a peaceful coexistence and understanding which I hope will one day be our ultimate goal as living beings in this universe.

Don't ever change the way you post jim, you've made me think several times about a few things, including Maker's Mark
