To answer the question, some baptist-type religious site in the UK had an estimate of £7 Billion (but being a religious site that prolly includes the innocuous pics on the fashion mag covers and sunshine girl calendar items etc)

Well, the UK is our closest ally and when they come up with this nonsense, we should be concerned. Concerned that the folks there have not gone completely out of their minds.

Gee, next thing you know they'll want all night crooked gambling and legal whore houses like Las Vegas.

What folks do behind closed doors, is not a big deal, Juan. However, it is a big deal if someone opens up a Sex Theme park where young children can see it.

In my opinion, anyone involved in any type of sexual activity with children ... and yes that includes EXPOSING CHILDREN TO SEXUAL RELATED ACTIVITES OR SEXUAL PARAPHANELIA, are the worst degenerates of our society and should be thrown in prison with the harshest possible punishment. The other prisoners will know what to do with these scum bags...I guarantee it.

Unless those opening up the theme park want lawsuits from parents and/or federal felony charges by exposing children to sexual related activities or paraphanelia, they will back away and not open up this ridiculous park. Either that or they surround the park with a wall high enough so young children may not see on the inside.

Several cities around the world — including New York, Amsterdam, Barcelona and Paris — are home to erotic museums. Typically, they exhibit everything from pornography to high-minded paintings exploring local sexual attitudes and culture.

Museums Opened:

New York Oct - 2002
Paris - 1997
Barcelona - 1997? (website copyright date)
Amsterdam - 1985

So the U.S. took that plunge into erotica three years ago. Does this mean that the U.S. has already lost it's marbles? I guess the artistic community has taken a page from Blair and is just following the U.S. lead. Leading by example isn't so easy, is it, NJ.

Museums are not out in the open where children can be exposed to this nonsense. As I mentioend earlier, unless they put up a wall high enough on this park to block off the view by children on the outside, they cannot open it. We live in a society where it is unacceptable to expose our young children to any type of sexual related activities or paraphanelia. If I were a prosecuter, I would personally throw the book at anyone subjecting our children to this nonsense.

Oh I agree with ya, Pea. IF sex is such a morally repugnant thing then one's own backyard should have the sh*t shovelled first. But... it still boggles me mind that someone would rather subject junior to a blood n guts gangsta flick that for all intents and purposes glorifies violence than a flick that shows nekkid people doing the wild thang... and by that I mean your typical indie/Euro/artsy movie will full nudity & consensual sex... not the hardcore bondage, whips n chains freaky fetish stuff.

Sometimes I wonder how you religious right-wing people ever manage to reproduce, since you apparently think sex is digusting and morally repugnant but you also think in vitro fertlization is morally repugnant, how do you reproduce? Do you come in a cup and then empty the cup into the woman's vagina?

You are unfortunately correct, Peapod. There is kiddy porn here. Those caught possessing any type of kiddy porn are sent to prison, no questions asked. There is no excuse for it. Crimes of a sexual nature that involve our children (child porn, deliberate exposure to sexual activity), I find so mentally disturbing that I would go so far as to authorize capital punishment for this particular category, as we have for murder 1.

RE: Officials in London H

NJ,

I reread the original post on the thread and I really think we are looking at this as two entirely different venues. I see this as more of a museum type locale whereas it appears you are taking it to mean open-air exhibition (like a county fair).

If it's in the open as you suggest, then some sort of cordoning off would be appropriate in certain areas of the exhibits since I think we all know that they will have an assortment of toys and educational displays about aberrant behaviours. That much I will grant you.

If your problem is simply the fact that this place exists then I will stutter from my last post and suggest you harp on the Vegas Casinos and New York Sex Museum before condemning another country for making a choice that is of a completely internal social nature and really, noone's god-damned business but their own.

I'm in full agreement, Canucklehead. Finally someone with common sense. Sure, if the park winds up as a conventional museum instead of an open-air type exhibition, then I have no arguments.

RE: Officials in London H

So you'd be happy if they started offing pervert preists, Nascar? The Catholic church sure wouldn't. Old Pope Benny has spent a lot of his career protecting them after all.

This really has nothing to do with kids though. The article doesn't mention kids one way or the other and it doesn't discuss the design or the required age for admission.

What has you freaking out is that it's about sex. Not just sex, either, but people liking sex. People having sex. People having sex in more than one position and for reasons having nothing to do with procreation. You're freaked about it James.

You have been brainwashed into believing that sex is dirty and wrong and immoral and now you found out that people are doing it and you can't stop them and you're pissed off.

By the way, You should watch this

Rev, you have it all wrong. You said this has nothing to do with kids. I disagree. It has everything to do with kids. If kids are exposed to this, then they are involuntarily affected.

The point I was trying to get across is that any type of sexual activity involving children to any extent is unacceptable. That includes child porn or exposing children to sexual related activities. If they either turn the park into a closed museum or put up a high enough wall to prevent children from being exposed to this nonsense, then I would not object. The truth of the matter is if they really do build this ... er park I am sure they will address these issues.

Oklahoma is also referred to as the "Sooner" State. The name comes from the University of Oklahoma athletic teams.

I know it's your country, but you may as well get it right:

Oklahoma
In 1889, the Indian Territory was opened to settlers. Thousands of people lined up on the border and, when the signal was given, they raced into the territory to claim their land. Some people went in early to claim their land. They became known as Sooners.
Hence, Oklahoma's nickname today is “The Sooner State”.

You are correct Juan in that the original name "sooner" derrived from the original settlers jumping the gun and claiming land before the allowed time. However, back them Oklahoma was not a state. So the expression "the Sooner State" would not apply.

Oklahoma was admitted to the Union on 16 November, 1907, as the 46th state of the United States of America.

The following year, in 1908 the Oklahoma Sooners footbal team was formed. The university actually derived their name from a pep club called “The Sooner Rooters.” Prior to Oklahoma becoming a state, the team was referred to as either the Boomers or the Rough riders.

Here's an interesting site with the history of the "Oklahoma Sooners" ...

History of the Oklahoma Sooners

Nice try Rev. I checked out your link before clicking on it (by simply replying to your post) and judging by what I saw on the name, I want no part of it.
