What channel?Just watching the live dismantling of Occupy Toronto yurts, tents, hovels and cool forts unfold now. Let's hope nobody does anything stupid.
Thanx...city tv
As much as it was fun to poke fun at some of the occupiers. I think eviction, is the wrong route.Just watching the live dismantling of Occupy Toronto yurts, tents, hovels and cool forts unfold now. Let's hope nobody does anything stupid.
True. But I think the encampment is sort of symbolic, and part and parcel of the protest. They're just taking down tents (which I do agree with) as far as I understand. Folks can still stay afterwards I think.
Hopefully. It might be just commentary, but they're saying the occupiers are being evicted as well. Not just the removal of the encampment.Yeah, it seems pretty cool. As long as no officer buckaroo or uppity hero hippie doesn't want to be 'famous', should be fine.
Pffft. It's 2 degrees.Besides, it's friggin' warmer inside man!
Thanx. The one-sided livestream with sarcastic commentary but still...

I don't like the way that sounds.

That's sort the point of civil disobedience. They can't stay there overnight. But they are allowed to be there during the day ... sans camping equipment.
Right to protest and right to free assembly do not translate to right to camp.
That's sort the point of civil disobedience.
I wonder who will be picking up the tab to replace the sod?
Too many news video cams around makes the "Occupationless" act up...all looking for their 20 minutes of fame.
The Taxpayers of Toronto of course.
I understand that this is civil disobedience. But the result of civil disobedience is usually reaction from the state/police.
If I felt they had a hope in hell of actually changing anything or changing things in a positive way, I could feel much more involved in or sympathy for the movement. But they have yet to come out and say they are clearly for this, this and only this and not that. Corporate greed is too vague a statement for me.
Why are you asking now?
What's was it all about?
Same things as Egypt.
Unemployment, corruption, high cost of living, rights etc.
I do love all the supporters of rights and freedoms who are upset by the vulgar protestors.

Greedy bastards. In my day we were content with our 15 minutes.
