‘Occupy Cleveland’ Protester Alleges She Was Raped

“Occupy Cleveland” protester tells police she was raped in her tent over the weekend. Cleveland police are investigating an alleged sexual assault incident Saturday at the “Occupy Cleveland” rally involving a 19-year-old female student from Parma.

According to police reports, the 19-year-old student was instructed by “Occupy Cleveland” personnel to “share a tent with the suspect due to a shortage of tents.” The suspect identified himself as “Leland” to the woman. The woman told police that after she had thought the suspect went to sleep in his own bed, she slept in a sleeping bag provided to her by the rally.

The student went to school Monday and told a teacher about her sexual assault incident in Public Square — which is being classified as “kidnapping/rape” — prompting the teacher to immediately contact the authorities.

“Occupy Cleveland” is one of many movements taking place nationwide in the wake of “Occupy Wall Street,” which is protesting against corporate greed.

That is not stealing. That is simply a redistribution of wealth that they are calling for. Some of the occupiers have money and valuables that some occupiers don't. The so-called "thieves" are simply taking what they don't have and did not earn.

Your cynicism fails to slice through the obvious. The concept of wealth redistribution relies on a voluntary adherence to some form of social contract. Theft is a violation of this social contract.

Do young children in public school steal their education because they didn't earn it? Of course not. They are the beneficiaries of a system where the sum of individuals choose to put their financial resources in common in order to invest in society as whole. That's some form of wealth redistribution. Health care follows the same logic.

Do you need more explanations?

Seems to me that ES is absolutly right. That is what they are protesting for is it not?

There's a whole slew of different things under protest, so there is no real focus. Some of it is validated, some not. But painting everyone as a thief and then equating thievery with distribution of wealth takes some gigantic leaps in ideology.

A wise man once said that if all the money in the world was to be distributed evenly, the same people who have it now would have it all back within two years. I would amend that to 95% as being an optimist I think a few would have learned.

A wise group of people once set up a Constitutional Republic but some assholes ****ed it all up and they had to go bankrupt and reform as a legislative democracy and **** has been rolling dowwnhill ever since.

What's the difference between the gvt legislating that thievery via taxes against the will of those that are targeted?

Just 'cause it was 'voted on' doesn't make it ethical or right.
