Thread title says obligatory military service....or do you have reading comprehension problems today too?
No, I have notion that would preclude the combat role from any compulsory service.
This is the original OP and it only talks about military....and since the present and former members of the military are so fond of pointing out that killing is what the primary purpose of the military..... then ..... like I said....hell of an idea..... god way to teach our young to maim and kill.
I've tought my offspring to use weapons of many kinds. None for the use of killing a fellow human being. For providing for their own and surviving in the wilds. If they so chose to continue their military careers beyond the Cadet stage, they will likely learn the 3x3 on a human target. Sobeit.
But from what they have been tought, sans the human conflict part that you take issue with, is to survive, provide and adapt.
I wonder how many people would have been sent into a frenzy when the lights went out a few years, if they had the training my boys do?
don't like my interpretation? Tough shyte! War mongers can dress it up anyway they want, it's still teaching the young how to kill, anything else that they "may" learn is secondary.
That's your interpretation of it and certainly not what was discussed in this thread.
We do't have a gun to point at your head to get our way.
But a Crusifix is just as dangerous.
SO...because I don't agree with it....even though my taxes pays their f*ckin wages...it's OK for them to walk away from me and mine...... I rest my case as to what kind of sick moraless brainless morons we are dealing with.
Gh, you know full well that your responce is hyperbole. You know several members of the military that would die for you in a moments notice. Though we have bumped heads terribly so, we respect and admire your position. We just haven't it in us to be like you.
I won't through out my usual rhetoric here, you already now what I'll say.
There is no "less redundancy"...the difference is I am the only one arguing my side.
No, you aren't really argiung, you preaching and accusing.
You know full well how good our Cadet system is. Could that same principal and civil moral code not be applied to the 18 plus crowd, manditorilly?
I'm not the one to feel sorry for...... those that see nothing wrong with the killing, or those that find ways to justify the killing are the ones that need to be felt sorry for.
I'm glad this comment wasn't directed at me, it could really jurt someone who struggles with their past.
It works in Switzerland. I am pretty sure it wouldnt work here. Canadians are too apathetic and a large part of the population would balk at the idea of even going near a firearm let alone picking one up.
Sdaly I must agree.
I believe a wise man once said "there is none so blind as the man who refuses to see" or words to that effect. A large percentage of our population has a phobia about guns.
