Good thing nobody takes Adler seriously.

Second rate radio talk shows that are bad comedy trying to get passed as journalism has never been a big audience grabber in Canada

He is entertaining and I get a kick out'a him. As far as Adler not
having a big audience, maybe your Canada and mine are different.
If these "Second rate radio talk shows," as you word it, didn't draw
a big audience, they wouldn't exist and go on for years and years....

As far as radio talk shows being "second rate" & "not real journalism,"
that would be in comparison to what and whom? Just curious...8O
What is your preferred brand of fiction? Everone has their own slant.

Adler is great. He's one of the few right of center commentators I care to listen to. Saying that nobody takes him seriously or that he is second rate just shows an inability to refute what he says. While folks like Tyr may feel that popularity, acceptance or fashionableness equals having quality, genius or merit, I think the likes of Britney Spears have shown the errors in his thinking.

Good day Risus, look, before Harper got his hand on the wheel the liberals left Canada is a very good fiscal position, the loser comes in $12B SURPLUS IS A GONER AND ON TOP WE SEE THE NEXT 5 YEARS ARE RED INK, I am 100% sure that in the 2006 election if Martin had stayed on we would not be seeing the fiscal mess we see to day thanks to the liers and cheats of the Harper Conservatives.

Don’t forget that the voter’s puissance will not be hopeful for ever with Harper.
As soon as the red ink will start oozing out like burning lava people will panic and Harper will be gone. Have a good weekend.

You are a joke. How thick are you anyway?? Take a look around you, at the economy around the world. You actually think things would be different if the liberals were in power?? You have been spouting the same garbage for a year now. Its time you changed your tune, you are sounding like a broken record....

the speaks volumes about both capacity and capability

It's kinda like reading the Farmer's Almanac are believing it's gospel

It has nothing tio do with fashionableness, but rather quality, objectivity and depth. Alder has none of those

the fact that he keeps getting fired and the only gig he seems to be able to get are blogs on FOX or the NP caters to his inability to educate or inform

Good outhouse radio at it's best

Tyr, if you have ever listen to Adler, and I am sure you have by your comments, I am sure you recall his claims to be "fair and Centre" radio commentator that "Tells it as it is".

The problem is he tells things as it is from his point of view only to excite the audience. If he doesn't like a caller that is smarter then him he cuts him off with the excuse of a bad connection. If he has a weak caller of the opposition he toys with him trying to make him look bad. He always gives people on his side a short call but lets them hammer away the topic quick and hard.

Our local Radio Station still has him ( CKNW ) on the air but shifted him for prime talk time night time..

I'm not sure if you've noticed, but there's a chuck of Canada between
where you sit in the lower mainland and the G.T.A., and they might just
think a bit differently than you do. Adlers slant and opinions are different
than yours, but that alone doesn't make it "second rate," and he may not
have a big audience in your household, but that doesn't explain his
longevity in his field now, does it? If he's not a "big audience grabber in
Canada," How do you explain this?:

The following radio stations carry Charles Adler's daily radio talk show.
I (like Cannuck and I'm assuming more than a few others) enjoy Charles Adler's
daily radio talk show (& website & blogs in the National Post), so what volumes
of all of our capacity and capability is that saying to you? Just curious....8O

Ron, there is a big difference between "entrainment" Radio and "informative" Radio..

I don't mind a Radio host who lambaste all political stripe party candidates and views as long as he does it in a fair and unbiased way. In all honesty "Chuck" might be entraining and make you laugh but he is slighted in the views and does not give you all the facts. He is a magician of talk Radio and a bad one at that.. He plays on your political view and when I first heard him I remember even calling in the show and being "on the Air" and they cut out 90% of what I said to only use the slander they wanted.. As time moved on and Chuck became less popular in this market area, he would target, BC as a Liberal BASTIAN.. Remember those words as you listen to him next time as he uses that very freely..

So BC is not so Liberal as you believe and want more unbias Talk Show hosts so we can make up our own minds instead of having someone else brain wash us into political oblivion..

I sure do! If you're going to post a picture of yourself, it's only fair
that I reciprocate. :lol::lol::lol:

Darn near all media is slanted and biased in one direction or another.
Please feel free to point out ANY media outlet that isn't. I usually laugh
my butt off when I listen to Alder OnLine, but that doesn't mean that he,
and others that don't share your views, don't occasionally hit the nail on
the head. We're all capable of making up our own minds instead of having
someone else brain wash us into political oblivion...but dismissing someone
outright on all topics, and anyone who listens to them is pretty narrow
minded for anyone considers themselves liberal in their thought process's.

Ron the idea is to be somewhat fair when you control who and what is said. In my case he used only the most negative things I said and left out the rest to his advantage. When he "hooks" a opposite point of view, he drags them on and lets them bleed till he has abused them to the max. To me this is not information but rather Jerry Springer type of Radio..

Perhaps you should catch Bill Good on Corus CKNW live Stream and see what Talk Radio is about..

The idea is to maximize your listening audience to sell advertising time.
The same goes with all the news services, local and national. TV & radio.
I'll try and catch Bill Good if you try and catch John Gormley on 980
CJME (mornings weekdays): Home | News Talk 980

Can anyone honestly tell me that CNN, Fox, CTV, CBC, or any
newspaper (online or printed) doesn't bias or slant their stories? That
is why I try and pull information from as many different sources as I
can, and then form my own opinions, be it on a current event or Global
Warming or even history (even history varies depending on who's version
you are reading). 8O

You need not try to catch him live.. You can go to any archive and play it back from the "Vault" in most cases..

Hopefully I can do the same for John Gormley..

I would imagine that the meeting went so long as these two individuals are strong on pleasantries and platitudes and short on substance - They both love to hear the sound of their own voice. Obama is piloting an airplane spiralling to earth and is entertaining the passengers rather than trying to wrest control of the airplane from the forces of gravity. The ground is getting closer folks!

Limbaugh is an American in America and mostly listened to by other Americans.
Adler is a Canadian in Canada and mostly listened to by other Canadians. I happen
to be a Canadian in Canada and Adler has a Canadian slant as opposed to Limbaugh's
American slant. So which news service (TV, Print, or online) doesn't have a bias or
slant to its reporting of the news?

sigh.... back to the topic

Overheard from Canadians at Parliment Hill during Obama's vist

"Obama just waved to the crowd... So did the other guy (Harper)"
