Sheesh....I like the guy too!
Doesn`t change the facts at hand tho.....you as-oles have it commin and thats just dandy with me. *splatter*.

One thing I do like about Obama is that he gets guys like JBeee all scared and upset.

JBeee lives and breathes for people to hate America just like DB. To those two Obama winning was the worse thing that could have happened. They loved coming on here and bashing Bush and the United States but now about half of their former allies are Obama lovers and worshippers.

The world is starting to loosen up JBeee...and we still are pulling the same old s****... tee hee.

"Whatever wounds America has inflicted on the world, they are very deep and they cannot be erased away by only one speech,"

Political analyst Siraj Wahab

Perhaps, jbeee, but everything has to have a start. I am fond of hiking. How does one complete a 35 km hike? One step at a time.

One speech is not going to change anything, however, it sets the tone, it tells the world that the days of cowboy tactics, shoot from the hip policies of Bush era are over. It is the start of a new era. It remains to be seen where it will lead us.

Wahab. Does he have anything to do with Wahabi faith? Or no relation?

As a friend of mine from Michigan told me in the last primaries (she was a Hillary supporter)

Wulfie, I remember about Michigan and Florida. They brought their primaries forward and Democratic Party penalized them, did not count their delegates towards the final count. It was considered that there may be backlash against Democratic Party, that people may punish democratic candidate, especially if it was Obama. That didn’t happen; Obama easily won both Florida and Michigan.

Northern Ontario,
I'm not playing with words either.

Obama was a member of the senate during those years. He was one of the ones that voted against going to Iraq.

Yet he has continued the war...again... contrary to his campaign promise.

And what about GITMO? He said he would close it down during the campaign...and it was one of his first announcements upon taking office. People CHEERED!

But GITMO is still open and he has backpeddled on a closing date!

I think that is great!!!!
Obama became a Senator in Nov. '04...... Source

And the Iraq war started in March '03........so Obama never voted for or against it......

Edit: But like all politicians left or right.....his handlers will tell him what to do....

Comparing Obama’s speech to Nixon’s visit is not a reasonable comparison and you of all people should know that – Nixon was the only person that because of his politics that could pull it off and have support –

Why isn’t the comparison fair, Goober? Nixon’s visit to China opened up a new chapter in world politics (as did Sadat’s visit to Israel). Obama’s visit has the potential of doing that.

As to support, are you saying that Obama doesn’t have support for his speech in Egypt? I think he does.

Here I agree with you, EagleSmack. Bashing Bush was fun, with his ‘nucular’, ‘misunderestimate’ etc. With Obama, with his perfect diction, smooth flowing, eloquent speeches, it isn’t quite the same.

Bush wasn't all that bad either when he stuck to the script. Shut off Obama's teleprompter and he's almost as entertaining as Dubya.

Nah. Bush is the only one that tried and failed to read. I saw the pic with him and the kiddies book upside down. Our kids could speak better English than Bush at gr 3. Obama can at least read the teleprompter. Bush had problems with it. lmao

24 hours later and nary a word about the speech in the news. Got stale very quickly; hardly seminal.

My mistake DA. Obama has claimed that he was against the war from the start and voted against any funding to continue the war while a Senator.

But you are correct.

Plus you don't like people giving the same treatment that they gave Bush. His speeches are perfect and eloquent providing the teleprompter is working. When that fails he is like a deer caught in headlights.

What did he say once... I've been to 57 states already with 8 more to go... that was perfect wasn't it!

Re #51.

That picture reminds me of the one my wife took of me when we visited Mount Rushmore. I just stood there, with the former Presidents in my background, but the picture showed me as one of them.

You can perform miracles with photography and especially with teleprompters.

Ahhhh the eloquence and perfect diction...

"Let me be absolutely clear. Israel is a strong friend of Israel's. It will be a strong friend of Israel's under a McCain...administration. It will be a strong friend of Israel's under an Obama administration. So that policy is not going to change." --Amman, Jordan, July 22, 2008

"On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes -- and I see many of them in the audience here today -- our sense of patriotism is particularly strong."

"In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died -- an entire town destroyed." --on a Kansas tornado that killed 12 people

"My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it."

EagleSmack, whatever the gaffs by Obama, he is much better than Bush ever was. Anyway, what is the problem with the last quote?

"My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it."

Just because USA is the greatest nation in the history of the world, does that mean that it cannot be changed, cannot be made better?

When blacks were segregated in USA say in the 40s, USA was the greatest nation in the world. Does that mean that segregation should not have been ended?

Even the greatest nation in the world is capable of improvement, of learning from its mistakes.
