Now Britain wants to bomb Libya back to the stone age. The rebels own part of what they want to destroy. Makes no sense unless Britain wants to occupy Libya for themselves. You don't totally destroy a country to save one group or another. As far as I'm concerned, Canada's stance ought to be that the Israeli-Palestinian issue is a foreign matter and so will leave it to the Isralis and Palestinians to sort it out among themselves and should they need international intervention, then Canada would jsut defer to international law and leave it at that.

I am with you in that Machjo, Israel and Palestine should be left alone to settle the problem. The land their fighting over has no natural resources to speak of, only of value to them. Nothing shipped to either one till it is settled.

Obama is usually pretty good at catching the changing winds. He is also right in that he
wants a meaningful treaty which I think would take the sails out of the radical Muslim
Brotherhood. If anyone noticed there are caveat's that require exceptions to the old boarders
based on mutual agreement. That would mean part of the Golan Heights might remain in
Israeli hands along with Jerusalem being an open or shared city.
This will take a lot of talking to complete and will probably go nowhere in the short term.
I don't see Obama being defeated in the short term, He will likely get re-elected.

Or it could be that those who are projecting their hate unto everybody else who naive or are morons.

Most blacks in the south were civil war veterans and were fully armed. Furthermore, the north occupied the south militarily for years. As for Palestinians, if they were so were well armed and intended to commit genocide, they would have wiped out Israel long ago. Democracy and integration have worked in Canada and the USA. And it will work anywhere else.
