Medical vacations are big business around the globe. They come with lots of horror stories too. The reason they're cheaper is because they work for less and they are less regulated.

Americans make up the lion's share of medical vacationers.

That indeed is the problem with going to a place like Mexico, Kreskin. If everything goes OK, no problem, you have indeed saved money. However, it there are any complications, I don’t know how good is the follow up in Mexico. Also, it could run into money if there is any infection, any complication and the tourist has to make a longer stay there.

His best bet would be to return to Canada and let the Canadian health system worry about the complications. I suppose that would constitute the abuse of our heath care system. But I suppose when one has free health care (free at the point of delivery, that is), some people are going to abuse it, that is inevitable.

Oh, I can explain that readily enough. I am well acquainted with Ontario system, I happen to think it is a very good system (it has its problems, of curse).

Then I see that in indicators such as life expectancy, infant morality, life expectancy without a serious illness etc., Canada does very well indeed. That tells me that our system, while far from perfect is a very good system.

That doesn’t mean that it cannot be changed and made into even a better system. But I definitely wouldn’t know the Canadian system as it is right now.

All countries who allow flights to the U.S. are required to abide by what ever rules we give them. Obama appointed a incompetent boob like Janet Napolitano as Secretary of Homeland Security which coordinates all the security information. Napolitano's reply to the attempted hijacking: "proved the system worked" what system, a passenger jumped the guy and beat the poop out of him. Another Obama appointee has failed.
