Medical vacations are big business around the globe. They come with lots of horror stories too. The reason they're cheaper is because they work for less and they are less regulated.

That indeed is the problem with going to a place like Mexico, Kreskin. If everything goes OK, no problem, you have indeed saved money. However, it there are any complications, I don’t know how good is the follow up in Mexico. Also, it could run into money if there is any infection, any complication and the tourist has to make a longer stay there.
His best bet would be to return to Canada and let the Canadian health system worry about the complications. I suppose that would constitute the abuse of our heath care system. But I suppose when one has free health care (free at the point of delivery, that is), some people are going to abuse it, that is inevitable.
