Now's the time to use our own reserves

I'm tired of hearing the excuse for gas prices. We have our own reserves, so why aren't we tapping into that for the difference while Texas rebuilds. Remember all the refineries around the oil sands years ago? well that's for gas production too. Start shutting valves to the trading partners, we're in a hard way here too. Canadians first!

I suppose because we're filling for furnace oil this month that the price hike is due to Texas again. BS, the heating oil comes from
Canada.

We can easily fuel 45 million Canadians for their needs, cars AND heating. Where's the consumer watchdogs when we need them.

They decided they wanted a monopoly on refining petroleum products so guess where they put most of those refineries?
:)
It was hell or Houston...and hell wasn't hot enough.
Of course, with all that heat and now all that water, the place is steamy like Dallas.

Have you not noticed that most of the Canadian refineries have been shut down and the oil is all channeled through the Gulf Coast refineries? There was a time when refining capacity was intentionally spread out for strategic reasons. It also helps in the case of natural disaster, no?

It has been a common complaint for years that too many of Canada's resources are shipped unprocessed to foreign nations. We then buy them back at much higher prices.
