North Korea fires missile over Japan

The Japanese government has confirmed that North Korea has launched a missile and that it flew over the territory of northern Japan. This potentially dangerous event happened on Tuesday.

Immediately after this happened, the Japanese government alerted people and suggested to take precautions. Soon after the news went on air, it was confirmed that there was no damage caused by this action of North Korea.

This was yet another act of aggression of the North Korea that keep developing its offensive weapons that are aimed at some of its neighbor countries. Just three days ago we could hear that several short range missiles were fired into the Sea of Japan. President Trump didn’t need much to react as he stated that they are ready to meet any kind of threat from a communist country with “fire and fury.”

The missile that was fired and that passed over the Japanese north territory was tracked by the Japanese military, but they did not try to take it down. This happened at about 6:06 am local time or 21:06 GMT.

Soon after the launch, Tohoku region was warned, and people were advised to take refuge in underground shelters and similar. Later on, it was confirmed that the missile has landed in the sea and that it has been broken into three pieces.

Shinzo Abe, Japan’s prime minister, stated: “We will make utmost efforts to firmly protect the lives of the people.” This was briefly said by the prime minister that was entering his office in which emergency meetings were held regarding this situation.

Confirmation from South Korean came shortly after the missile was fired suggesting that an unidentified projectile was launched from a region close to the capital of North Korea and that it was traveling eastwards towards the sea.

We have received a statement in which joint chiefs of staff reported that both US and South Korean militaries were monitoring the launch and the trajectory of the missile. It was also added that they didn’t have immediate information how far the projectile traveled and where it landed.

They're trying to get back into the news. I suppose that they figure a big cheque will be written to buy them off if they become a big enough nuissance. The more likely outcome is that a big cheque will be written to Martin Marietta.

It'll provide jobs. In private industry, too, at least for those who can't distinguish between a company that sells its product on the open market and a company whose sole customer is the government on a no-bid contract.

Maybe Japan or the U.S. should just start knocking these things out of the sky. This is entirely intended for domestic consumption in North Korea.. to distract its citizens from tyranny and poverty that their Great Leader has inflicted on them, with fears of invasion. He knows any act of war would see the leadership annihilated within hours, by way of air attack, or as likely, by an overthrow of the junta from within.

South Korea says North has fired another missile over Japan
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
First posted: Thursday, September 14, 2017 06:40 PM EDT | Updated: Thursday, September 14, 2017 07:35 PM EDT
SEOUL, Korea, Republic Of — South Korea’s military said North Korea fired an unidentified missile Friday from its capital Pyongyang that flew over Japan before landing in the northern Pacific Ocean.
It was the second aggressive test-flight over the territory of the close U.S. ally in less than a month and it followed the sixth and most powerful nuclear test by North Korea to date on Sept. 3.
South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said the missile travelled about 3,700 kilometres (2,300 miles) while reaching a maximum height of 770 kilometres (478 miles).
The missile was launched from Sunan, the site of Pyongyang’s international airport.
North Korea last month used the airport to fire a Hwasong-12 intermediate range missile that flew over northern Japan.
The North declared it a “meaningful prelude” to containing the U.S. Pacific island territory of Guam and the start of more ballistic missile launches toward the Pacific Ocean.
South Korean experts said the August launch was Pyongyang’s attempt to make missiles flying over Japan an accepted norm as it seeks to test new projectiles and win more military space in the region dominated by its enemies.
The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defence said the latest launch posed no immediate threat to Guam or the Marinas.
South Korea’s Defence Ministry said the country’s military conducted a live-fire drill of a Hyunmoo-2 ballistic missile in response to the North’s launch on Friday.
Seoul’s presidential office said President Moon Jae-in has scheduled a National Security Council meeting to discuss the latest launch.
North Korea claimed its latest nuclear test was a detonation of a thermonuclear weapon built for its developmental intercontinental ballistic missiles.
The North flight-tested its Hwasong-14 ICBMs twice in July and analysts say the missiles potentially reach deep into the U.S. mainland when perfected.
North Korea’s latest missile launch came days after the U.N. Security Council unanimously approved new sanctions over the nuclear test. The latest sanctions are not as tough as what the U.S. had sought, they are expected to have a significant impact.

It's almost as if it's for domestic consumption in the USA. The American public always get four-square behind their President in time of war, even if he is a lying cheat con-man who has already sold out his country to a military rival.

Well, that explains all the presidents and prime ministers you have supported

Isn't this considered an "Act of War"?

Not sure if you knew this or not...but they are at war already, it's just been a temporary truce since the 50s. Another not won war by the US to add to the pile.

But I guess since the US just had their ass handed to them in Syria, they better make smoke for the tax payer qwuick.
