All it means is the AC can be turned off and the grass doesn't grow as fast. No insects, no crisis. Haven't seen anybody running down the streets yelling their heads off, . . . . about the weather, there are other issues going on with people on my block.

I find it extremely amusing that people in Canada use the AC. I would only consider using an AC if the weather was 45 – 50 celcius but that never happens here. People waste their money because they are too used to cool and cold weather that they think a mere 25 celcius temperature is too hot and requires AC. Such Canadians would never survive in most of the inhabited world.

The Middle East is about to become uninhabitably hot. We will have the last laugh here in the mid-latitudes where we have a climate that is benign enough to feed most of the inhabited world.

They don't live that long - for trees that is - 60 yrs or so. But poplars die sooner. They generally last for about 30 to 40 yrs. Those two lead a hard life.

In my case the south wall and roof have poor insulation so the living room heats up to a higher temp than the air temp. Call me a coward but I fail to see the advantage of sweating when a slightly cooler room eliminates it. When I sweat all day I end up with a fungal infection in the form of very itchy 'pimples'. That is when I started running the AC.
