One of the more interesting defenses of racial discrimination I've heard. "Motherly instinct". . . that has to be right up there with "it's in the bible."her motherly instincts told her she would get the best treatment from a white doctor.

Why is this woman's position so shocking?
I think there's a little of her in all of us. She simply wanted the best care for her son, and her motherly instincts told her she would get the best treatment from a white doctor...as her son was given poor treatment in the past by a brown-skinned doctor.
She probably ain't the brightest candle on the cake, but I'd go with 'caring mother' over 'racist honky' on this one.
I'm white and we'll probably be moving to Scarborough soon enough. The only catch is that we'll probably be speaking more Chinese than English around town. Sorry folks.
I had a white doctor prescribe me medication for pain once. Knowing how white doctors are, my first question was whether it contained any opiod. White doctors prescribe that stuff like candy, so gotta be careful.
How racist of you.
OK, I agree, it was a racist joke and inappropriate. Please accept my apology.
S'okay. Pacific Mall is just up the road.
Ever get an incorrect diagnosis from a white doctor?
If so, do you hate all white doctors?
Any of these foreign trained doctors who don't adhear to Canadian behoiur standards when it comes to dealing with patients should be reported to the Medical Profession and they should have their license lifted or at least suspended.
I really don't see why we should be immigrating Doctors anyways. This is one of the best Professions in Canada, it is government funded,, and it should be exclusively for Canadian borns only !!
Canadian. born doctors don't want to practice medicine in Kapuskasing. Lots of them go south for the $$$$$$. Some of them come back after the realise that the US is in the process of falling apart.
So, you interpret her explicitly racist rant as. . . not really racist. It's not overly difficult to grasp this womans' angst driving her to lash out, the luxury of a family doctor that she like thousands of others in the gta never get to enjoy frustrates. Ending up with disinterested clinic medical practitioners with limited english and a production line attitude angers many she just happened to get her tirade posted online. Healthcare in ontario is as lacking as queens park savvy.
Ontario law exacerbates the situation. For example, in BC, a practitioner of Chinese medicine needs to pass the test in either English or Chinese. Consequently, even those who don't know English well can ply their trade with patients who don't know English themselves so as to free up space for English-speaking docs to serve English-speaking patients. That way, it increases the supply side and everyone is happy.
In Ontario, a practitioner of Chinese medicine must pass the English test. Consequently, few docs can work in Ontario, all patients flood to the few available docs, and then English-speaking patients complain of English-speaking docs having no time for them. Their solution? Let's pass laws to exacerbate the situation.
Sounds good. We do have an issue, here in BC with Strata councils holding the meetings in 'chinese' but some owners don't speak it. We have issues with signage in Richmond not including english. I have no issues with a business having signage in the owners language, but it should include the language of business too: English.
We have street signs in Delta and Surrey that are in Punjabi, but also English. In Canada, you should learn english, so if you need help and nobody near you speaks your native tongue you can still get help.
Doctors should speak english in Canada. Dentists should speak english in Canada. Everyone in Canada should speak english. I have no problems if your english is not very good, but try, learn, your in Canada and this is our official language. It's the language of business.
