Yeah, that's obviously the problem. F*cking troll.

Well, you documented several cases where you were clearly unable to communicate to any one of many many medical staff what your issue was. So, I'm going with the common thread in all those cases you documented. You clearly didn't communicate what your problem was.

And for getting to the root of the problem...flossing out the truth...brushing aside my detractors...and rinsing and spitting out the hypocrites...

She would have a better chance if she used VooDoo medicine for anything more severe than a lingering cold.

Any white people still left in Mississauga after the massive white flight during the last 25 years is a little spooked.

I'm white and we'll probably be moving to Scarborough soon enough. The only catch is that we'll probably be speaking more Chinese than English around town. Sorry folks.

Ever get an incorrect diagnosis from a white doctor?

If so, do you hate all white doctors?

I had a white doctor prescribe me medication for pain once. Knowing how white doctors are, my first question was whether it contained any opiod. White doctors prescribe that stuff like candy, so gotta be careful.

Lucky for me though, I had a good white doctor who had the wherewithal to prescribe me something a little less addictive.

Usually the drugs are addictive, as in they claim you'll die if you don't take them or the like, and then they also lead to more addictive drugs.

That's why I prefer using things like spices as medicine - they work, and they also taste good.

I used to cook Indian but i had to quit after I got married because my wife can't stand the smell of different Indian spices. At that time though, I essentially had cupboards full of herbal medications that doubled as herbs and spices in my Indian cooking.

Now I cook Chinese, and though I'm less familiar with the medicinal properties of the herbs and spices I now have in my cupboards, my wife is familiar with them.

I have no sympathy for anyone who demands a specific colour of person for anything.

It's fine to ask for a qualified person.

I hope she gets the worlds worst white doctor...

Someone has an appointment with them already...

I can understand the request for doctor that speaks English as communication with the doctor is important. However, I have yet to meet one who has spoken poor English regardless of race. If you were to get one, I think it would be ok to say "I am sorry, I am having a hard time understanding you. Can you be clearer?". If not, then asking for a different doctor would be acceptable.

I have also not observed any more or less good or bad doctors based upon the colour of their skin. Sadly bad doctors exist and come from every race.

Doctoring is such a personal thing, if one is uncomfortable with one's doctor for any reason, one should change their doctor.

Why is this woman's position so shocking?

I think there's a little of her in all of us. She simply wanted the best care for her son, and her motherly instincts told her she would get the best treatment from a white doctor...as her son was given poor treatment in the past by a brown-skinned doctor.

She probably ain't the brightest candle on the cake, but I'd go with 'caring mother' over 'racist honky' on this one.

I wish her kid the best doctor he can find regardless of his skin colour.

Possibly. Still prejudiced, but sometimes it has more to do with ignorance than any real ill will.
