People discuss marijuana use, and talk about sex, and gay people have parades and natives show their pride and nothing is wrong with any of it. Its all Good.

But I get a prescription from my doctor, and there is nowhere to discuss it. Its all legal, there is no abuse, its even paid for.

Others who take this medicine are not likely to come out and admit it, much less discuss it in public spaces like the internet.
No, its not Viagra, there are lots of discussion forums for that.
And its not anti-depression pillss or an experimental new drug. They love to talk about those because it generates new sales.
And no, I can't tell you what drug this is. Not yet.

Would you support a forum on this?
[see how difficult it is to discuss when we can't mention it out of fear from the War on Drugs?]

Dr Z, the world renown sexologist will opine on any drug known to man. It may not be true or the facts but that is not the point.

The only a couple of drugs people rarely discuss are:
Heavy-duty antipsychotic or antischizoid meds;
Drugs to replace or alleviate addiction withdrawal.

Unless you are being treated hormonally....

You mentioned War on Drugs - so this drug is illegal in some countries? Cocaine, Heroin, Meth ?

Treatment of HIV/AIDS which shouldn't be a problem discussing.

Even then mentioning these indicates I am stating I think you need them. I don't. I am only guessing what drugs may have stigma attached to their use.

Karlin are you taking a drug that Society might consider controversial? If you are afflicted with a certain illness there is also support groups and forums available. If your Doctor prescribed it, why should you feel shame?

Karlin ... and everyone else ... if we start a health section, you think it would be useful? There are so many legal considerations when doing that so instead we thought people would just post in the Lounge if they had personal health issues to discuss.

My advice is to start a thread in the Lounge ... I'm sure you'll get some feedback.

No, but only because I think we have quite enough forums already. But if you want to start a thread on it as Cosmo suggested, I'll certainly dip into it, if only to find out what you're actually talking about, and if I feel I have anything useful to say, I'll say it. Can't give you any more than that without knowing more.

No, I would not support such a forum at this time.

I think that Canadian Content needs to undergo a comprehensive "consolidation" processes, in terms of its growing number of forums; I would suggest that the number of forums should be decreased and regrouped, as necessary, before we should undertake the consideration of creating more forums.

Just my thoughts.

Oh. o_O

Sorry, Dexter Sinister. I hadn't gone through the entire thread before I posted. It seems that I pretty much said what you said. Heh. Oops.
