If Obama had even a fraction of brains and political savvy that his blind worshippers credit him with, he would have named Sarah Palin to the Supreme Court.

You know, killing two birds with one stone?
Ok ... I'm going to assume that you're serious - you usually are when it comes to Sarah Palin - but I have to ask - she might have the approval ratings from some Americans - but what qualifications does she have to be on the Supreme court? She's not even a lawyer. You seem to believe that Obama should not be President, just because he's popular, well shouldn't the same go for La Sarah? Just because a bunch of people seem to find her appealing, doesn't mean that she's qualified for the Presidency - let alone the Supreme Court. In this case, what's good for the gander should also be good for the goose.

It is obvious, based on the responses to post #6 by liberals that humour and the appreciation of tongue-in-cheek remarks, is definitely NOT their strong suit.

I don't put myself in either the liberal or the conservative camp. What I DO know, is that you've always seemed to be a Sarah Palin groupie - you've been her Paladin even when it was obvious that she was not truly up to the task and as such, why should I not believe that you are serious? It has less to do with my (and I can only speak for myself) lack of 'hah hah'- than your previous fanboy comments on Sarah. Let's face it. You post those good good 'Sarah' vibrations, most people would actually believe that anything 'pro Sarah' you'd post is what you indeed believe.

JLM posted about Sarah Palin, in reference to my tongue-in-cheek post that she should be nominated to the United States Supreme Court:

"She's good looking, Y.J. but Supreme Court material??????????"

Well, it could be rephrased, pertaining to Obama:

"He is not exactly ugly, but Presidental material?

Who decides if somebody is presidential material or not, YJ? It is only the American people who can decide that, nobody else. And in 2008 they decided that he indeed is presidential material.

Dowhome Woman I am no more a Palin groupie than you are an Obama groupie.

SirJosephPorter, more and more of the American electorate experience buyers' regret. Obama got elected by 58% his approval rating is 40-45% according to different polls.

For any President to lower himself and the office of Presidency to pick personal fights with detractors - as your idol, The Annointed One does time after time - is definitely UNPRESIDENTIAL in anyone's book, except, of course yours. And perhaps, gopher's.

I hope this candidate for the life-long appointment gets the same kind of loving and tolerant treatment as Robert Bork and Eric Estrada got.

TenPenny, I will not use the idiotic term "my bad" but I acknowledge that I made a mistake.

I meant MIGUEL ESTRADA, and you know it.

He did not get elected with 58% vote, YJ. It was 52%. This is the second time you have got your facts wrong in the last couple of days (first was when you claimed that Utah senator Bennett lost a primary). Perhaps you may wish to get accurate information before you post here.

As to his current popularity, he is at about the same popularity as Reagan or Clinton were at this point in their presidency. Let us wait and see what happens to his popularity as the economy improves.

And who decides what is unpresidential and what isn't? I assume you do.

Problem with Bork was that many Republicans senators also voted against him, along with democrats. So yes, if several democrats vote against her, she may be in trouble. But as of now, there is no sign that that will happen.

The ever so smart SirJosephPorter decided to innore half of my post by saying:

"And who decides what is unpresidential and what isn't? I assume you do."

SirJosephPorter, the numbers I quoted (easily substantiated and have NOTHING to do with the ratings of previous Presidents) mean nothing to you?

Which numbers are those, YJ? That Obama got 58% of the votes in the last election? Let us see you try to substantiate that.

Elena Kagan Says Senator Hatch's Gun is "Gorgeous"

ABC News' Cullen Dirner reports:
When it was Senator Orrin Hatch’s turn to meet with Elena Kagan today, he decided to talk guns.
“You’re gonna get mad,” Hatch told Kagan, pointing to a gun hanging above the press. Hatch described the gun as “Man of the Year” from the National Rifle Association calling it “a piece of art.”

SirJosephPorter, you probably don't know, but the Electoral College determines the Presidency. Its vote was 365 for Obama and 173 for McCain. That is roughly 67%.

The popular vote was about 52% for Obama. To be fair I split that and came up with my figure.

Yeah, I know, it not scientific, and a person of your stellar intellect might even declare that it nothing but nonsense, but you have your standards and I have mine.

However, the most telling and significant fact is that - if we only consider only the popular vote - 52% voted for Obama and his approval rating is only 42%. That is a big number for those who finally woke up and smelled the coffee. And a BIG DROP.

I know you will dismiss Rasmussen because you always do.

YJ, you're reading the Rasmussen poll wrong. 42% is not the overal job approval of Obama. It's the number that "strongly disapprove" of Obama's performance. Rasmussen does this thing where he breaks up the approval and disapproval of the President's performance into "strongly approve", "somewhat approve", "somewhat disapprove", "strongly disapprove". Rasmussen isn't the first pollster to do this, but I still feel it's redundant and kind of meaningless.

Because it's so meaningless, it's silly to see Rasmussen considering these results to be the headline results. The real important part of the Rasmussen poll results is always buried several paragraphs in the Rasmussen article. That would be Obama's actual job approval/disapproval rating. (Approval being the number who "strongly approve" + those who "somewhat approve" .)

That number, according to your Rasmussen link, is... 46% approve, 53% disapprove.
