They don't work very well for you. A couple of thousand people may lose their current jobs, and you see that as proof positive that unemployment is skyrocketing in two countries with a total population on the order of 365,000,000.

Maybe some day someone with much more time and patience will explain economics to you.
This is more about destroying jobs in Canada than in the US which I admit is more our fault than yours for electing a government that wants to destroy one of our major industries.
Which brings up the question I have been pondering for quite some time.
WHy is it that working people, union or non will vote for a party that is up front about its desire to kill certain segments of the economy? Often their own industry.

Actually the growth of the GDP has been shown to have very little connection to Pres. policies. Obama was elected Nov 2008 when the WORLD was still reeling from the worst economic failure since 1929.
Over the next 8 years of Obama's admin. the economy steadily recovered so that when Trump took power things were looking good.

Trump certainly has not been bad for the economy, but he hasn't done any better than Obama did.

Biden? Who knows? His foolish acceptance of the CAGW myth and its desire to close down basic industries plus touting unreliable cost ineffective energy sources will likely have the same unfortunate results EU & other nations have ALL experienced ie. job losses, huge rises in energy prices with the inevitable accompaniment oh tax rises etc..

Biden will probably avoid that after looking at our clowns in Ottawa.
