I havent watched the video yet but Im not surprised if it was underwhelming (what I consider Stephan Dion to be).
As underwhelming as Mulcair and the NDP platform is.

If you want to see it, just watch a couple vids on YouTube. You'll be bombarded with it in short order.

Mulcair fires first shot into his own foot:

While the bill to end the controversial registry received royal assent in Ottawa last Thursday, the NDP's newly minted leader vows to bring it back if he becomes Prime Minister.
Speaking on the Radio Canada show Tout le Monde en Parle Sunday, Thomas Mulcair said the solution is to fix the irritants in the long gun registry — not scrap it.
"I will work to register firearms. The public and the police have the right to be protected," he said according to iPolitics.

I usually reserve judgement for the 6th of every month, but we may be seeing the beginning of a significant shift in power.

Not quite a shift in power, that will be decided 3 years from now but it's a shift in opinion and support. A neck and neck fight for support always makes for interesting politics.
