Do you really want Carole James representing our province to the rest of the world???

Do you really think that she has the ability to negotiate with business and other leaders?

Is she capable of coming up with a solution to solve the softwood lumber dispute?

I really don't think so

The fact also is we have a convicted criminal running the province.(Not to mention a liar and thief) Convicted criminals should not be allowed to run for office if you ask me.

Sorry - I HAVE to go back to this one after thinking about it.

Campbell OWNED the fact that he was wrong for the DWI. He paid for a lawyer to look after it [and plead guilty] for him as well (out of his own pocket) unlike other former premiers [CLARK] who have hired lawyers and have the taxpayers cover the tab to the tune of thousands of dollars (although nobody is allowed to know what the final legal tab was for that mess - under lawyer/client confidentiality - I think that as taxpayers - we have a right to know how much that cost us!

As for the LIAR - What EXACTLY are the LIES?

As for the THIEF - What has he stolen? Should the RCMP know about this? Should they PROSECUTE him?

Get your facts straight first!

I have three kids in school and i can tell you first hand the Libs have ripped the system apart :( Theres no more class helpers all the equipment is run down and the books are old and in taters .The real sad thing though is teachers that have been in the school for years being shuffled out the door because of cut backs .They have changed 22 teachers in the last 2 years in this one school .All the kids used to know them all now it takes them 3/4 of the year to know who the teachers are :? Great for learning eh?
I hate when people disrupt the flow by going back to a page 1 quote, but.....

I have 2 kids in school so I can tell you first hand that not every school is the way you paint it. My son's class has 2 "helpers" and there are at least 10 Teacher's Assistants at the school. Most are assigned to either a specific student or a class or 2 to help where needed. The only teachers that haven't returned in the years we've been there are the ones that retired.

I volunteer one day a week in the library and computer lab, so I see the new books and equipment that the school has received this year alone. Last year, they got $10,000 worth of new computers, and most of the rest have been replaced this year. We get new books probably once a month... at least.

Who are you or Campbell to say people working in hospitals and care homes make to much and need their wages and benefits cut in half? How would you like it if tomorrow Campbell decided you make too much and cut your pay from $20 - $9 or $10 an hour with no benefits?

The money that these workers were being paid was too much. These weren't SKILLED TRAINED PROFESSIONALS - these were cleaning, laundry, and cashiers.

In 2002 the DOCTORS and NURSES DEMANDED A RAISE - RIGHTFULLY SO! These are PROFESSIONALS - Who can move anywhere in the world and be paid a lot of $$$. Money came from the inflated contracts of the support staff to facilitate the raise for the doctors & nurses!

And just to set the record straight regarding doctors before someone says that they are already overpaid - take this into concideration:

Doctor's have a couple of major expenses that come from their own pockets:
- OFFICE EXPENSE
- STAFF EXPENSE

Also, Doctors do not get paid OVERTIME like the rest of the hospital staff. Some doctors work over 48 hours straight and get paid the same rate the whole time.

Doctors do not get paid to be ON-CALL, yet they must be available to go to the hospital at a moments notice.

So who deserves the raise here?

Our school never paid people to do the stuff we volunteers do, so my "job" is safe. However, I know what you're saying. I think there should be as many volunteers as possible in the schools. Not to take jobs away (hey... I'd love a paycheque!) but to get parents involved with their kids' school.

Win - win.

Maybe Funny - but TRUE
From the BC Liberal Website: http://www.bcliberals.com/ndp_-_the_real_story/the_real_story_-_education_&_carole_james/

The NDP Record

4-million student days lost to labour disputes.

A one-size-fits-all class size policy that split up siblings. The NDP’s rigid made-in-Victoria policy led to absurd situations where schools could not add one single student to a class that had reached its limit – even if that meant the student was forced to bus across town.

170 elementary schools turned away 750 children from within their catchment areas in 1999. (Source: BC Principals & Vice-Principals Association)

An additional 276 elementary schools admitted that they had been forced to re-organize their schools after the start of the school year to accommodate rigid class size limits, adding further disruption for students.

Under the NDP, there was a ban on parent volunteers in schools.

For all their talk, the NDP actually short-changed the education system. According to who? Carole James.

Quote: “Simply put, there is not enough funding available from the [NDP] provincial government to maintain the current choices of educational programs, classroom services and support services for the existing student population in schools.” – Carole James, Victoria School Board Chair (source: Victoria Times-Colonist, 24 Sept 1999)

The Truth Hurts, doesn't it!

Another thing that bothers me is Accenture doing HYdros billing do you know who they are?Their the fine people who gave us Enron, California will not do business with them by law so what is Campbell doing giving them part of Hydro? We are now F..ked because of NAFTA we will never be able to get rid of them unless its for huge money .What do you say about that Liberal spin doctor

I honestly do not know enough about Accenture to comment - where can I read about this company?

Accenture and BC Hydro recently signed a 10-year agreement valued at nearly $1 billion ($1.45 billion CDN) designed to save BC Hydro customers $250 million CDN and expand Accenture’s ability to offer customer relationship management, IT, human resources, financial, procurement, and building and office management services to utilities across North America.

I guess if this agreement isn't working for BC Hydro, then they will terminate after the 10 year agreement.

They opened up a BC branch called Accenture Business Services of British Columbia Limited Partnership and hired former Hydro employees

“The BC Hydro employees who will move to Accenture Business Services of BC bring with them valuable knowledge and skills in all the areas of service we will offer. With this agreement, Accenture now has 3,800 employees in seven Canadian cities: Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto, Mississauga, Ottawa, Montreal and Fredericton.”

So if we save money, and they employ Canadians, what is the problem - oh, I know - that evil word - PRIVATIZATION

Gibsons isn't considered the Lower Mainland, Ten Packs. It's ion the Sunshine Coast, and is probably not a Liberal Stronghold... I think it was Gordon Wilson territory. I could be wrong. Either way, I don't begrudge them the money. Nor do I begrudge Surrey. It's one of the fastest growing areas in Canada, and they have a high percentage of seniors.

Are these the only areas to get funding?
