You prefer the carbon tax in the absence of any proven scientific evidence whatever. This would all make sense if Harper and the conservatives had not taken years of debt reduction and turned it around and piled more debt on us.

It isn't about average family. Any tax always unfairly targets those slightly up the tax scale. Natives are exempt and in this case the poor get a refund because their carbon usage doesn't pollute. Also exports are exempt because fossil fuels burned in other countries does not emit GHGs.

It is also a tax on working , especially in rural areas. We have no natural gas for heat or taxpayer subsidized transportation. Currently I drive over 200k for work every day so my tax burden just to earn a living will be quite high.
