Actually, that is probably the easiest time for an enemy boomer to go take a swipe at a friendly. Think about it, if you can, the friendly is preoccupied doing whatever they are doing in their exercise and don't have their minds open to recognize any anomalies. For instance the sonar operator may be concentrating on pinging the positions of friendly boomers and just glance to see if they are all in the positions they are supposed to be in.
Another tactic is to draft on a surface ship directly underneath it to hide.
Boomers are boomers because they are stealthy and there has been myriads of tactics developed to enhance their stealthiness.
NKoreans the best? I doubt it.
Oh yeah, and BTW, here's another thread that could have just been added as a post in an existing thread about NK sub issues. Lazy shyte

Mr Gilbert your logic is flawlessly illogical. I have noticed that you are rather free with the personal insults in this thread, perhaps you could tone it down before I am forced to take action and report you to the appropriate authorities.

There's a better chance that DB works for the North Korean news.

I don't believe Kim Jong Il hates the west as much as some CC posters.

Seem like the posters who love the west the most are the one who are asking for proof over mere words when those words come from known liars, WMD + Iraq. Nobody from the west is raising much of a stink about 1 million civilians being killed there, at least anybody that can change the course that lie started.

If anyone here had ever been on an exercise, they might know that live ammunition isn't used. Anomalies are thrown in for good measure and if the Anti-Sub patrol did detect the sub, they wouldn't have actually fired on it, thinking it was part of the exercise.

Besides that, as LG previously pointed out, there are so many things going on, sometimes things slip through the perimeter. Like on a recent Army maneuver at Borden, when a Sqn of Air Cadets stumbled upon a platoon on a simulated search and destroy mission at night. Thinking the platoon was part of their capture the flag exercise. The Cadets proceeded to flank them and move in. To everyone's surprise, if the platoon actually had a flag, the Cadets would have taken it.

That's why they call them training exercises. If you can't wrap your head around that. There's likely not much in your head to use in the first place.

The US would have been command and control, are you saying that at this stage of their 'abilities' they can't tell if there is an extra player in the game perhaps they should go home and stay there which eliminates the reasons for the games in the first place.

They would sink a 'friendly ship' just as a bargaining chip with Japan about the future od American bases in that country. Older tortedoes are contact weapons, this explosion was below the whole ship, based on the little available info on that part.

Did you mention to your CO that you got a 'woodie' when on a training mission as a door-gunner on a chopper when you were strafing treetops (in the hopes that each round also contacted a 'fleshy target'? He probably would have let you sit out the rest of your time as far away from any weapons as possible.

What is "the west" Kreskin? What do you admire the most, the unprecedented frauds or the willful murder of millions in dirty wars of conquest, or perhaps the monumental hypocracy? I'm of the opinion that those of us dissatisfied with the dispicable culture we have built represent the saner and healthyer segments of our society and offer it the only hope of correction that it has. Certainly nothing more than maintenance of the sick status-quo can be expected unless we realize our clareing deficiencys and work to correct them. Unless that is done we in the west have no future at all.

As Eli Wallach said in "The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly", "If you're gonna shoot, shoot. Don't talk".

Oh-oh, this is looking 9/11 bad. How many seamen have been interviewed after this incident? None. It is all govt controlled "info". There is a great deal of distracting and irritating noise here.

No shrapnel has been found from the torpedo. And it is rusty.

Big business from SK is salivating to get into North Korea because nothing has been built there for forty years, the infrastructure is decrepit. Plus the SK govt has many Christians in it who totally support the US and want to depose NK.

Hyundai has cars called the Santa Fe, Genesis, and Verzcruz, which mean in Spanish respectively, holy faith, the beginning, and true cross. Christians love to advertise their religion, even if they have to do it obliquely.

The current prez of SK, HM Bak used to run Hyundai, the former mayor of Seoul, and he is a Christian. His nickname is the bulldozer.

Or maybe the sinking was to scare the Japanese so the USA could keep their base in Okinawa, which they did.

Oh Beaver, Beaver come into reality. We may have made a few mistakes in the past, but so what, we learn and most of us move on. You keep being bitter about your past, you may have no future.
