The only idiots are the ones who believe those myths I mentioned are actually true. Sadly, I know plenty of people right here in Ohio who do believe them.

Everything I mentioned, with the exception of the one about GWB, is the sort of thing I grew up hearing as a child from various adults.

So you know a few idiots that say that in Ohio, how does it constitute an American myth? For someone claiming to abhore broad statements, you certainly don't seem to follow it.

I was told those things as a child in NEW YORK. And I know people who got the same crap in pretty much every state.

Makes it universal enough to warrant mention, if you ask me. In any case, why are you jumping all over me all of a sudden? I don't remember insulting you today.

I don't know who taught you what, I never grew up being taught any of these things. Maybe its your circle of influence. The US is the chosen nation by God? Puh-leaze. Actually I am following your lead. I have no trouble grasping anything other than exaggerations. What megachurches in the midwest preach do not constitute american myths that need to be debunked.
