I'll take a fiscally irresponcable dickhead over a Nazi sympathizing wanna be socialist dictator anytime.

In that case you should be willing to pay more to get rid of the debt................I'm not sure how Trudeau was a "nazi sympathizing wanna be socialist dictator" but you rarely make sense.

Umm, it is well documented and I handed that info to all you Trudeaumaniacs way back before I was banned, as for his wanna be socialist dictator aspirations...well he was in love with and admired Fidel...nuff said.

As for your attempt at a slight flame bait...I have made and taken great steps to afford you a great deal of respect and not vollied a single shot, to my recollection, across your bow. I ask that you at least attempt to keep it civil as well sir...you've demanded it of me enough times.

In all frankness, that sentence right there is the problem we have here in Canada. Never mind the issues candidates support, never mind that occasionally politicians actually follow through on good ideas, and never mind that they come from all political persuasions, Liberal =bad, no exceptions...sheesh.

Did your family all vote Conservative or something?

Let's see......I've voted NDP, PC, Reform, Canadian Alliance, and CPC........can you spot the missing party?

I would agree that insisting on voting for a single party despite, or in complete disregard of its platform is stupid.

I do believe, however, that NOT voting Liberal is a principled stand, wise, ethical, patriotic, and necessary for the good of the nation..........

Rex Murphy said it best in the Globe and Mail today.....in essence, all the accusations aimed at Pierre may be true......but to level them at a man not alive to defend himself is cowardly at best. Perhaps Lyin' Brian (whom I voted for.....ONCE!....in 1984) should have had the balls to say it when Trudeau could defend himself.

Self-serving to the end, Brian is scum.....that said, Trudeau was worse.....much worse.

Edited to sat:

I should also point out, as long as I'm being even-handed, Trudeau was absolutely correct about Meech Lake.......much as I can't stand the man.

Many years ago when I saw "pete" on TV with his rose in the lapel, the head cocked back, talking through and down his nose at "us", and suspecting what he was doing to the country, I wanted, most fervently to grab him by the throat and punch him senseless. But I didn't.

Later, when I saw that creepy scumbag lyin brian on TV kissing Regan's ass and promising :"jobs jobs jobs", and more than suspecting he was lower than whale sh!t, I wanted, most fervently, to grab him by the throat and punch him senseless. But I didn't.

Now, I see :"Steve" (even lower than WS) telling us that our boys are "dyin fer freedom" and kissing the chimp's ass, I really want to............................................. But I won't.

..............what's the point...........??

I think maybe Bob Stanfield might have been good, but that's moot.

It's a mug's game.

So according to Rex we're not allowed to criticize or accuse anyone that has died? How absurd. How about Stalin, Nixon and the Kennedy boys? Because he's dead? Gimme a break.

No, that's not what Rex said, he objected only to Mulroney's impugning the young Trudeau for his "reckless sentiments" in wartime Quebec and, as Mulroney would have us believe, "deep carelessness about the fate of the Jews." He wrote this about that:

"It might--and I stress might--have been fair game were Mr. Trudeau still here to answer. It might have been fair game to haul up the great ghost of Pierre Trudeau's past during the Meech/Charlottetown debate itself.

"But to deploy the most savage argument when an opponent is no longer above the earth to face it, to conduct a full onslaught on the integrity of a departed foe, is to lose on grounds of taste what might have been won on the merits of description or analysis."

He's right. And he rightly concludes, "Being avid for supremacy corrodes the judgment. One doesn't have to subtract from a Trudeau to add to a Mulroney, or vice versa. And the passion for Canada that each of them possessed contains enough for each to be celebrated in his own and distinct way."
