actually, it is weird
Tell me about it! I don't have a data plan, I don't have a SIM card in there. It's a first gen iPad I bought refurbished about a six or seven months ago.

Your iPad is psychic. It would really be weird if she was dead. No, it was from my niece, lol. I'm telling you it was so weird.

If your IPad is the latest with a "IMessages" app like most 3rd or 4th gen IPods and Iphone have you can use it to send and receive messages to any iphone using their number or IPod or other IPad using the email system.Anyway, I have a weird one, maybe someone could explain this. Came home today and went to pick up my iPad off the charger and I had a text message on it. I don't have a data plan on my iPad. The iPad is connected to my wifi but it doesn't have a phone number or anything like that associated with it, so how can it get text messages? It's never happened before so I don't understand why it happened today.

My wife sends and receives message to our daughter's Iphone or mine any time she is within a wifi range, it's an apple thing, except for tim Horton....they seem to be using some kind of proxy server.
It's a deal that Apple has with all service providers.....Text messages between apple devices don't even show up on any phone bill.
I wasn't aware you could still use Outlook for your Hotmail account. I think I used to use Outlook Express and a few years back was unable to use it for my Hotmail, had to use WindowsLive Mail on the desktop or something like that.

Hotmail is now called Outlook. Name change. Looks like this, or many other colour choices.

First question: Did one of them send you the message....then ask them if they sent it to your email address...or whoever sent it to you.....anyhow any message had to be sent to your email address and by an apple machine. under message header (contact info) you should see who sent the message if you don't already knowI get that part, Apple devices are awesome when it comes to syncing up and/or working together. But the weird part is I've never sent a text from my iPad even to her (she and my son are the only ones with iPhones). So still strange that it would come in to my iPad and not to my iPhone. It still must have been some kind of a glitch? My iPad was at home, docked but on my home WiFi, my iPhone was with me, at work on the 3G network. I should have got the message on my phone, no?
But even if your on Mac, you still gotta have an email account with someone...no?Ah, okay. That makes more sense. I haven't used it for a while. I'm on a Mac.

Also, Check on your IPhone, in settings/Messages, scroll down to send & receive ....if you have two addresses, such as your phone # and your Email there and your phone should be offline at the time the message was sent, it could possibly go to your IPad which was plugged in and obviously runningYes, it was one of them that sent the text. And I did know about the message capabilities between Apple devices but since I've never used that on my iPad, I found it weird. I could see it if I'd sent them a message first. If they kept the message open and didn't clear it, then any reply would go to my iPad.

What does genealogy have to do with how Bluetooth works which was the question asked?Bluetooth gets its name from Harald "Bluetooth" Gormsson, who was King of Denmark c. 958 – c. 986 and King of Norway c. 970 – c. 975/986.
His son, Sweyn Forkbeard, was King of England from 1013 to 1014.
It doesn't, except in Little England, where Blackleaf lives. What does genealogy have to do with how Bluetooth works which was the question asked?
My Hotmail / Outlook just finally started working. Fk all day without your email system working is a real bummer.
One of the problems with Outlook not working, you can't access your SkyDrive files. So it's a real piss off!!
Maybe this is a sign MicroSoft best days are now behind it.. Best I sell my shares..eh!!
