Moses Znaimer may acquire money-losing Sun News Network

According to a source familiar with the negotiations, Mr. Znaimer is eager to make a deal that would see ZoomerMedia Ltd., a company he controls, buy the news and opinion channel before the year is over. Mr. Znaimer currently has exclusive negotiating rights, and the price of the purchase would be low, the source said.


Once the architect of CITY-TV, Mr. Znaimer now owns a stable of TV, radio and other media properties targeting an audience aged 45 and older – what ZoomerMedia calls “the world’s largest and most affluent generation.” Buying the Sun network would give him another foothold in television.


Sources said Mr. Znaimer appears to want to return to his roots, rebooting in some fashion the CITY-TV model that made him a household name in Canadian television.

I'd be happier if the news was just the news. I'm fed up with all the 'infotainment' that passes for news these days. I don't want to hear anybodies point of view, I want to hear what happened, that's it.

Yeah, I do understand that.

Now, if you ever find evidence of an unbiased news source, here or anywhere, now or in the past, drop me a line. I'd be interested to see such a mythical beast.

Every time I've watch Sun News it's been nothing but braindead hysterical cranks and low production values. So yeah, I can see why you'd think it was a foil to CBC, but do we really need it?

Colpy needs to believe! If Ezrant doesn't survive... who will lead the fight against the evildoers within the "Media Party"?

Their production values suck.

Their advertising clients are awful.

Those "braindead hysterical cranks" are just people that disagree with you. And present a view you are not used to seeing presented. So yeah, they are very important.

I'd be interested too and I'm not pretending that such a thing ever existed in any true or pure sense. However, since the advent of the 24 hour news cycle, it's gotten much, much worse.

I know the difference between brain dead hysterical cranks and people I disagree with. Keep in mind, I am a socialist. I tend to disagree with the whole of mainstream political and media opinion, and bias of selection in the news. There are a lot of people I disagree with that I recognize as sane, conservatives and liberals. Sun New is not sane or rational or intelligent. Sun News is nuts. It's even worse sometimes than Fox News.

And I am used to the views of braindead hysterical cranks. I come here all the time.

Actually, I think Sun News has more than a few intelligent and thoughtful commentators.............

A lot more than the CBC.

And braindead hysterical cranks on Canadian Content Forums??
