Calling me a bigot is a lie. The truth scares the hell out of you. And I don't need your "truths" to set me free.

Calling you a bigot is a description of the political positions that you've taken. Want some tequila with that salt?

Nope, want some cheese with that whine? There is your definition of a bigot and then there is the truth.

Come on Blue...you can't bullshit a bullshitter...I've been to Alberta on a number of occasions...and tough is not the word I would have used...

Then you must have been to Edmonton. It's known as the left wing capital of Alberta, and you're right, they ain't so tough up there

Funny...I got asked to leave Calgary once. Seems your police don't like having to deal with leftists from Regina....something about us causing trouble, I think it was. I went peacefully, being out of rubbers and having sprung my friend from jail. The scars on my knuckles have healed though, and the huge Oldsmobile with the blood stains on the seat is a distant memory.

I don't play those boyish games anymore. Don't ever mistake that as meaning that I can't play those games anymore though. I can. I will.

Hey, being from Sask, you gotta be tough to be able to leave when everyone is trying to keep you there. Your only mistake though was going east instead of west.

Actually I went west and checked it out. I just couldn't bring myself to live in an entire province of mentally challenged girly-men. I thought about hanging around for a while because of the women, but then I wondered if I wanted to be married to a woman who said "auntie?" every single time she looked in the mirror.

I'm starting to find the east west thing a little redundant. After having spent many years in Alberta and the Maritimes I've noticed one main thing: Everytime someone is bitching about the east/west, more often than not it's Ontario or Quebec that they're referring to, but the provinces on the opposite side end up getting lumped in with them.

I'm just gonna stick with my origional perceptions of all of you, not east or west... you're all Southerners, and lucky enough to have roads, bars, malls, and theatres.

Oh neat, Finally some signs of Canadian patriotism with dashes of competitive pride between the provinces. Now all you guys want to do is invoke some real intellectual jousting to sound like the good Canadians you all are.

Actually I like this. Does this mean we can just throw the whole damn thing away and start over again?

Actually, I had a thought. If I was Harper, I would start the election campaign by telling everyone that the day after he gets elected, he would call in the Auditor General to do a complete and full audit to be completed by the time the House resumed sitting in the fall, and to have the final report be the first thing on the new agenda. Specifically, have the HRDC issue reviewed, the gun registry cost overrun issue reviewed, the EI surplus issue reviewed, the foundation accounts reviewed, and after consulting with Gomery, have ADSCAM reviewed. Open up all the books and let 'er go at 'em. The second item on the new agenda would be rules and guidelines to be put into place to make sure none of this crap ever happens again. I suspect even some liberals would vote for this.

I liked it too.

The only thing that worries me about throwing away the whold damn thing is that the time it would take to fill the void. Who'd be governing our systems, cities, towns, laws or managing the gov't accounts with money already already in there from the last tax season?

We'd have more people taking advantage of that situation on a scale larger than any gov't combined, and by the time we figure out what kind of new gov't we want and set them up, they'll be left running a system more screwed up than when Crechin* left his gov't with Martin.

You are probably right, would never work. However, it was a pleasant thought.

We simply need to change the system a bit, not throw it out. The problems are quite obvious and the difficulties that those problems have caused are getting very obvious. We already have governments in place to run this country effectivly. The provincial governments are functioning for better or worse but they are in place and opperating. The change over could be accomplished in one single national vote even on this next ballot If a bill was formulated to incompass the changes to the federal government style and the required ammendments to the constitution that bill number could be on the ballot as an option right along with the names of the people running in the various ridings for the federal election. you can chose a name and you can chose to change the sytem or not. It is not that difficult , this is a democracy..........

I like your idea of less government, and would like you to post exactly how you see a future federal government and the provincial and territorial governments working together. Thanks.

I would like to take the opportunity to do that. However I shall start a new thread to do the outline if that is acceptable?
