More than 100 container ships are waiting to enter the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. Has anyone seen No-Show Pete?

Considering this issue is everywhere and places are already increasing their hours to 24/7, no, there's not much else he can do. Unless you have ideas?
He can and did take a leave of absence , not much chance of doing anything if not even trying .

So... he's with his children and husband in this picture.

So what?

You're going to say he doesn't need paternity time off now?
No he is a bloody cabinet minister , he needs to be at work in a crisis if only just for appearance sake .

Like every other secretary of Transpo had a handle on their girlfriend's pussy.

So what?

Also, lifting tariffs would only be a temp solution and again, the supply chain issues aren't just a US problem, it's world wide. Big issue besides the ports are truckers. Not enough of them. You should be all for getting more truckers out there...

Look at what the article says the issues are for. Hats, bicycles, TV's, sneakers... why not push to have those things made in the US? Give companies a deal - make these things in the US and the Gov't can subsidize factory development or something.

Hell, Canada should be doing the same.

But we allowed or forced all our manufacturers to move their operations off shore .

This isn’t caused by Biden, it’s caused by our desire for cheap Asian goods..

However, Biden is handling the economy wrong adding to the pain everyone is feeling in the USA..

2022 will be a Republican landslide in the Senate and House and Biden Impeachment will follow…that’s if someone doesn’t kill his sorry ass first

Absolutely agree and IMO it needs to stop.

He's not handling it any worse than any other President.

LOL - maybe - a big maybe. As for impeachment - WTF for? He hasn't done anything yet worth impeachment.

24/7 is not happening due to union contracts, it's already been posted in CC,, as well as California's regulations on truck emission and age standards also restricting truck's access to the ports. Let's not mention the widespread reduction in the workforce due to vaccine mandates, check out Boomer's truckers quitting thread.

He is the head of transportation in the middle of a supply chain crises with no appointed under secretary, it's not like his body is recovering from giving birth, what if he won the nomination and became POTUS would this still been acceptable?

Low Earth Orbit
NORTH BERGEN, NJ (August 23, 2021) – The President of the International Longshoremen’s Association today blasted Federal, State and Local municipalities and employers who are forcing Covid-19 vaccinations on those who choose not to receive it.

Harold J. Daggett, International President of the ILA, who, himself was vaccinated earlier in 2021, said lawmakers at every level have overstepped their authority by forcing vaccinations on individuals who don’t want it.

“I don’t understand why our government is trying to force vaccinations down the public’s throat,” said President Daggett. “Everybody should have a right to choose on their own. Our U.S. Government and local authorities are chipping away at our freedom. Once the government tells you what you have to do, that’s Socialism, bordering on Communism. I served in the Armed Forces during the Vietnam War and generations of American soldiers gave their lives to keep our nation free.”

The Food and Drug Administration on Monday granted full approval to Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine which set off a torrent of declarations by hospitals, colleges, corporations, and government agencies, demanding vaccines for their students or workers.

The ILA President blasted New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio who announced earlier this week that all education department employees would have to be vaccinated by Sept. 27, without the option of submitting to coronavirus testing instead.

“Mayor de Blasio’s actions are typical of so many misguided politicians who spent a career promoting “Free Choice” but now are acting like dictators when it comes to the Coronavirus vaccine,” the ILA leader said.

President Daggett believes the public can self-police themselves, taking necessary precautions to protect themselves and their loved ones.

“I am very disappointed in the actions of President Biden, his Administration and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) for their mixed messages on Covid and for an alarming heavy-handed approach to demand vaccinations,” said President Daggett.

“I chose to receive the vaccination, but neither I, nor any government official or agency, have any right to tell another American to do something they are not comfortable in doing. Protecting our health is important, but protecting our freedom and liberty is equally important,” concluded ILA President Harold Daggett.
