Well not to be totally heartless (And don't take too much into this) but parenting is a bit subjective, based on religion, background, herritage, living conditions, etc. and what one person might considered bad parenting, it goes both ways in the fact that you or someone else might be doing something they may consider as bad parenting.

Abusive/Neglectful is a given for all situations, I'm just focusing on the term "Bad Parenting" or "Good Parents" as it was put.

It is, but in this case no one could say they weren't bad parents. They just weren't abusive enough or neglectful enough for DCFS to take the kids away. They'll just monitor them instead to make sure they didn't wind up dead or really sick for the next year or so.

explain abusive.

Physical abusive is one of those things where you know it when you see it. Like, beating your kids badly enough to leave severe bruises or other evidence of the assault such as broken bones, cuts, etc... Burning them... Sexually assaulting them... Shaking them until they have brain damage... They aren't talking about a spanking or about being verbally abusive. It's one of the main reasons I left my old job which required me to float to the pediatric intensive care unit. I hated seeing those cases. It usually involved a mom who had multiple complaints throughout the years and her boyfriend du jour who beat the mom as often as he did the kids.

welts, bruises.....hell, I got them on a regular basis.......where the phuck were the "authorities" then????? I still open doors for females, except one, she said "dont you think I'm stong enough to open it myself" ever wonder what the hell is wrong with todays youth....they have no respect for anything or anyone....Its against the "law" to teach them respect!
instead, we spend millions trying to figer out whats wrong with kids today....in the meantime we give them mind altering drugs and say "they have add/adhd.....what a phuking load of crap! whena swift kick up the arse would've solved the problem.......oops sorry....no money in a swift kick eh?!
show me any evidence that proves add/adhd exists.

Again, I'm not talking about simple corporal punishment. I'm talking about abuse. Anyone who doesn't know the difference has something wrong with them. My parents managed to raise two kids and teach us to be respectful without regularly leaving bruises or welts.

I have. Our interactions with social work and DCFS generally involve us all getting frustrated at having to send kids back to homes where they are clearly not being raised properly. I've never seen them overreact the other way. By that I mean I've never seen them try to take a child out of a home without a VERY good reason. They have too many severe abuse and neglect cases to waste time on anything minor. It's really sad. I give kudos to the people who work in that career field. I couldn't do it.

Since kids can't choose their own names, there should be some guidelines. I remember a few years ago a couple named Lear named their kid Crystal Shanda.

Unless it's happened again, that is quite an old story. The way I heard it, it was Bill Lear's daughter, Bill, famous inventor and father of the business jet that bears his name, (oddly enough now owned by Bombardier). I wonder if Moon Unit Zappa complains about her name. My daughter once had a supervisor named Freelove. The monikers some parents saddle their kids with eh?
